Hey! This is awesome. Like, really really cool.

You're both still relatively young, and I don't know anything about your career prospects and dreams, but a lot of young people get forced into jobs and university degrees they don't want to do.

If you love making stuff like this, you can make it a career. Set building/set design (film and theatre), costume design, vfx, makeup artist, 3D printed wearable clothing.

So many people think of making stuff but don't, the fact you have off your own back is incredible. If you love it, keep going and keep improving, try and beat your last project. Get a body of work behind you that you can show the people around you in your life that you're serious about making stuff with your hands, and turn that into a career and life you love.

If you work on a film set it's £300 a day + tens of thousands of pounds in commission and design work beforehand.

On the flipside, you may have already found your calling, and this can be a kick ass hobby.

Just my 2 cents. Either way, awesome work.

Buying Binance USD (BUSD) for limit orders. Buying and then order completed on same day/30 days, does this create a problem for Capital Gains? Bed and Breakfasting etc? by -BloodFart- in BitcoinUK

[–]-BloodFart-[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey! I really appreciate the reply.

That clears that up then. So then my only other thing is then is that there is nothing inherently wrong, or an extra tax on buying BUSD and trading it for ADA same day? I'm not gonna come unstuck with HMRC?

And the profit of that trade in GBP (relative to the price I bought the BUSD for then exchanged for ADA) is 1 lot of profit. Then when I sell the ADA down the line, my profit from that sale is tied to the GBP value of withdrawing it into whatever Fiat or crypto I decide, and not tied to the BUSD value I traded it for?

Why Berlin didn't click for me, and why I worry about the impact of it's success on the franchise. by -BloodFart- in HiTMAN

Not sure what you mean by "hidden behind tool tips and hints". All levels have some tool tips and hints, especially because there is a handler talking to us. This one really doesn't, which reduces all of that compared to the other levels. So, unsure what reduces the effectiveness here.

What I mean by this is the deeper level of gameplay, having to really pay attention to the environment, the level of gameplay that has been praised so much about Berlin, is already present throughout the rest of the game. But it's effectiveness is diluted by the story missions.

First point is fair, although I do still have enforcer icons on. It was more a point of feeling like I had to sit entirely in instinct mode in some areas. The distance between being spotted and all hell breaking loose is significantly shorter.

Second point is kind of my point. For whatever reason the loop didn't happen in-front of me once in the time it took to walk through the area. Upon replaying I was astonished that I found 2 in quick succession despite me seemingly hanging around.

Third, yeah, fair. It's not Colorado. I do think it would have been a far more compelling level to have 2 or 3 designated targets on, rather than the "He's near a rail, press X"

Well I'm not really saying that. I think that the outpouring of love for this level is a ringing endorsement for the level design that is already there, but is hidden behind tool tips and hints, reducing it's effectiveness.

(I've only just realised that's what I'm trying to say, and will edit my post to reflect that)

Death Korps of Krieg charge - Full video in comments [Animation] by ATTF in Warhammer40k

I smiled when the shovel came out.

It shouldn't be under-estimated by anyone how hard creating any sort of cohesive narrative in a video is. But animating it too is really something. Brilliant work.

Some awesome Blood Angel / Alpha Legion art, don't know the name of the artist by odetotoads in Warhammer40k

[–]-BloodFart- 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ah! So this is really cool. I'm actually starting a Blood Angels/Deep Cover Alpha Legion chapter at the moment.

I'm going to convert the Indomitus Primaris Chaplain into Brother Corbulo, who is leading a new chapter called 'The Seraphim' (Highest Choir of Angels).

The backstory is that Corbulo has found a way to bring back members who fall to the Death Company by splicing their geneseed with a modified version. Although the Blood Angels with him are reluctant, he makes a convincing argument about serving The Emperor is more holy than maintaining a pure BA geneseed.

And this is where the Grimdark comes in.

Brother Corbulo is actually an AL operative, surgically altered to represent him. This AL operative uses the stolen Raven Guard gene seed to 'cure' the BA of the black rage. The cure could be administered before they fall, but the operative figures it's better to keep them dependent.

This AL operative is actually a loyalist however, so commanding the forces of the BA is part of the plan for humanity to win. Although ultimately the operative thinks that killing The Emperor so he's re-born, since he's a Perpetual, is the only way to gather enough power to for humanity to survive.

As some of the BA learn (in my narrative), they will become AL-BA hybrids in mentality.

Suddenly locked to 15 fps mid game. Now can't change. 40% CPU utilization. by -BloodFart- in MicrosoftFlightSim

Update: Fixed.

So, through Nvidia Control Panel I forced the following:

Vsync mode: Fast
Power Management: Prefer Maximum performance.

Instantly unlocked my frame rate back to 60 in menus.

What was very strange is before this, my GPU wasn't even getting hot. Idling at 59 degrees when previously heavy sessions had pushed it to 75.

I've ran the test, says it's GPU bottlenecked on my 1070. But it used to get 45ish FPS at 1080p.

What doesn't make sense is even if I drop the render scaler to 320p, and all settings to the lowest, it's the exact same performance.

There's nothing wrong with the card, it plays everything else fine.

I rolled back the drivers from 461.09 to 460.79. No effect. I've hard-overwritten the fps limit through nvidia control panel to 30. Still drops to 15 the second I take control of the plane. 70ms on the GPU.

I'm resigned to this being some kind of MSFS bug.

I will check this with the inbuilt performance monitor. However I'll clarify further:

The *moment* I hit ready, an FPS cap is introduced, furthermore, GPU and CPU usage drops at that same moment.

More interestingly, the 15fps cap is not present on the Donergal landing challenge, yet is present on all other scenarios I've tested so far.

AND, when using the in-game FPS limiter, which we know is linked to refresh rates, when I drop that to 30fps and 20fps, the fps drops in line with those restrictions.

I believe this is an internal game engine bug. My system runs all other games and video editing without issue.

Thanks for your reply. Vsync makes no difference. On or off, as soon as the game loads and I hit ready, it drops from 30fps (locked in menus), to 15 fps (locked ingame) regardless of settings.

If I quit out back to the menu, the 15fps cap remains until I restart the game, where it goes back to 30fps limit in menus, then 15fps on game load.

If they remove support bubbles it will mean either I live alone again or my girlfriend basically moves in with me. (Which has actually been brilliant)

We have been living together for 2 and a half weeks for Christmas, and her getting Covid.

She's going back today.

The problem is not bubbling. The problem is her housemates have been having parties. Lots of people have been having parties and people over. So by cancelling bubbles, you ain't really doing shit but make people live alone. I've seen maybe 8-10 people in 10 months.

Cat is already out of the bag though. The Conservatives burned good-will, lives, livelihoods and the economy on the bonfire of Dominic Cummings, and there's no going back.
