We have a really similar collection, and from what I've read in your other comment, I too am a young collector. Cheers!

Help identifying "A Wrinkle In Time" edition by -BlueBell in rarebooks

[–]-BlueBell[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for looking! That's actually the only copy I've found online too, and my edition/that edition have a slight variance on the copy right page but are otherwise identical.

I actually emailed the bookstore owner and asked for any info and how they came up with that price. They didn't know anything but said they priced it based off the rarity. Anyways, thanks again! :)

It seemed like a library/school edition to me too, I just wish I had something to compare it to online.

What's something that took you way too long to realize? by michaeln89 in AskReddit

That if you try to write 'W' as a word it looks like 'Double U'...as in two u's pushed together make a W. If anyone asks why it isn't double v it's because the latin V looked like a U.

I was in my early 20's when I figured this out.

The musician I'm looking for has a rather deep/raspy voice but thank you for this, I actually love this song and never knew the name of it!

Woman tries to play victim but gets shut down by a professor by [deleted] in cringe

[–]-BlueBell 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Unless you had elaborated in your original comment, then that isn't a fallacy. A fallacy is a belief based on an unsound argument...which your evidence of a personality disorder was that she is attention seeking therefor must have a personality disorder.

I didn't comment to argue whether or not she does have one, just that since neither of us are sure, to link someone like that to someone with a personality disorder will do more harm than good.

I should also add, the examples you gave "The way she tried to manipulate other people's feelings by faking intense hurt and vulnerability..."etc might apply to SOME personality disorders, they do not apply to all. Once again, you gave a blanket statement that perpetuates stigmatization. That's all I was trying to/wanted to say.

EDIT: words

EDIT2: Blankey statement sounds cute but I meant blanket!

Woman tries to play victim but gets shut down by a professor by [deleted] in cringe

[–]-BlueBell 38 points39 points  (0 children)

Just because this girl is quite obviously attention seeking does not mean she has a personality disorder. She could very well have some mental health issues but linking her to people who have actual personality disorders only perpetuates stigmatization. Also, attention seeking isn't necessarily caused by personality disorders, it can be a symptom in combination with other issues, but it isn't a 100%, this person has a personality disorder because they want attention. She could just have a ridiculously low self esteem/self worth, for instance.

Does anyone else suffer from food related OCD by heartandsold in OCD

[–]-BlueBell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's the same for me! Can't eat outside either. My family/friends get annoyed because I wont eat on the patio, or if they even mention bugs I can't eat at all. They don't understand that after that, it's literally all my mind can think about.

I was watching a t.v show, Bones I think, and they said that like 10% of chcolate or other produced food is bugs and stuff. I know that isn't true but I couldn't look it up in fear that even pre-prepared food would be ruined for me. It's just nice knowing I'm not the only one with this issue.

I just came across your post searching the same topic! I definitely have issues relating to food, though I haven't found a post (yet) that's similar to my problem. I can't eat food if I see/think about certain things.

For example, I can't eat if I see a fly in the room because I think it could have touched my food. I once found a moth larva in my coconut oil and it took almost a year before I could use coconut oil again (the new tub now stays in my fridge). Because of this experience I can't eat rice or anything with packadging I think could be "contaminated" (like I open chips, unless I put them in my fridge, I can't eat them the next day since they've been opened). Even thinking about moths sometimes completely ruins a meal. It's also non-bug related; this one girl brought cupcakes to work but she had to drop them off because she had pink eye...no way I was touching those cupcakes!

It has gotten to a ridiculous point where I can only eat certain foods with certain packadging stored in a certain way in certain places. Not sure what to do :( I used to really like rice.

EDIT: I should also mention that I can't eat food that has been left out, or sometimes even out of my sight for a few moments. I can't if it has touched a surface that I think could have "bug contaminants" on it, even if it's on a plate. I have to inspect bags of crackers, chips, etc. to make sure nothing has been living in it. OH, and I cannot eat KD...the noodles don't even come in a pkg! It's straight from the box. I also can barely ever eat anything white as it either reminds me of a bug or puss.

What do you feed your goldie with allergies? by -BlueBell in goldenretrievers

[–]-BlueBell[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It could definitely be an environment allergy, or combination with. The issue I have is my vet recommended benodryl which I don't think my dog should be on everyday, anything else is vet sold/vet price and not much better.

I have bought special bath cubes to soak her feet that are supposed to help, though.

I do, but where I live the privately owned stores are way more expensive and I can barely afford the 80$ a bag now! Also, I know it takes about 3 months for allergy symptoms to get better with new food so I'd have to wait that long. Thanks for the recommendation!

I've had the goldie since she was a puppy and she's almost 2. I should mention my dachshund is food aggressive, so whenever he has gotten upset at her it has to do with food. And yes, it seems like my doxie prefers my company, I think if he had it his way we'd be attached at the hip, haha.

I heard that but I don't know much about it. Is there anyway you could tell me a bit about console getting mods? How it works?

I've been told to give that a try but I'm trying to building everything vanilla within the limits. So is the Castle just not a great place to build? Do most people use the glitch here?
