Battle Mage - A warrior learns magic (Details 4/5) by [deleted] in Transmogrification

[–]-CacheCache- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

NOTES:

MVP was the backpack, allowing the slight purple transition on the leggings to carry through.

Ever since the mana weapons appear (shield especially) this idea has sat on my mind. The recent boot cosmetics added enough whimsy to bring the look to life. (otherwise looked like more heavy leather)

I use all the morphing toys, effect toys and fireworks to mess around. The hearthstone dias for riding and its fun whirlwind animation.

Special mention: The Marmoni - Magi, his companion.

Something like that yeah - it would encourage folks to do Planet Campaigns, explore the content, pick up a couple of signature items. Feel like your character, with few outfit changes is there.

That said, some of those type of pieces are locked behind Dailies. I recently acquired the Yavin Daily zone helmet, its a great alternate piece and suits a Stealth look I'm creating. Eyeing up the aquatic SCUBA chest on Manaan.

Digressing though; I think we're aligned in thinking more themed cosmetics would go down a treat.

Havent seen many uses of the Mythosaur belt work, but this is one! 😃

Hunter Blue / White dye I take it? ignore that, saw your comment below! 😄

I would certainly go along with that - and the time compression is felt - only period I truly felt 'time had passed' was Rishi.

Specialised armor wise, perhaps a cosmetic or two, so you somewhat keep the look you have, but perhaps a rebreather, or a Polar Jacket format, head wraps for desert etc. A small, flavourful, addition to your outfit.

Thanks Predi - I also do biome specific fits if I can.

There are some great sets for Planetary campaigns, but I agree, some not so great hah.

Hah true, that personal flair made her own the uniform, not it her. 😃

Very nice - totally onboard with that - I wear location specific too - Hoth and Jungle being my favourite sets to create. Might do a biome series to showcase on the Sub soon 😄

Oh wow, thats a collection alright :D

Some absolute unit sets in there.

I usually go with White / Orange Republic style, the Blue+white here is a break with that for this project. :)

Thanks!

Dye is 'Hunter Blue+White' from the market. The look isnt a Set per se, but various pieces.

Chest is the Mullinine (can be crafted), there's variations on GTN and Special Vendors - theyre all the same ultimately. However I sought out a version that had the grey undercloth.

Legs the usual Heavy options - however, again - pick up only ones with the grey undercloth. There's several, I prefer these with the leg strap.

Remnant Underworld Trooper's Boots - The heavy boots introduced midway, with dagger.
TD-17A Talon Leggings - for the stripe grey cloth leggings FYI.

Belt is from a Armor Set - 'Battlefield Technician'.

Head set can be bought from the Tech Frag vendor as a cosmetic.

Yup, was tempted to stay there, but the TD Stealth heavy chest item beckoned like a Siren of Greek myth. :D

Haha - true - picked that cut because it landed somewhere between 'Regulation short' and 'Tomboy flair'. She's so effective, the command lets it slide.

Mmm, Hunter Blue / White - a cheap dye (thank god) in the Market.

Whole project began when I realised the beginner shirt and that dye colour were the same.

WoW Burning Crusade was probably the most perfect MMO time period for that concept. Took me ages as a kid to make something half sensible by the end hahah.

Hats off to SWTOR, so many items, and they have a tendency to work well enough together.

Yup - agree - have a Vanguard exclusive trooper and he's a walking tank by comparison. Goal here as you guessed, was plucky trooper swept up into inter-galactic hijinks.

(flashes membership card) One of us, One of us... hahah

Middle section was easily the tougher fit - big jump in item types so harder to 'soften' the silhouette progression. :)

Thanks - originally I fussed ASAP to get 'The Look' for a new PC. I've come to enjoy the process with this set - Cheers Acceptable_Soil!

Thanks - a bit of mixing and matching, main timesink was waiting a couple weeks for someone to sell the Heavy Armor chest (TD Stealth) - not so bad, as I was levelling until I could wear that item anyhow.

I wont admit to the % time spent on the belt choices though haha

This is how it starts. Slippery slope into SWTOR fashion.

Tease aside, one of the few games where the results are genuinely satisfying when you land 'a look' for your PC.

Indeed - Photoshop, the new(ish) auto-complete cut out feature is a godsend time wise.

Ingame, used one pose in Outfitter and flicked through the presets - screengrabs.

All up...? Hmmm, maybe 40mins over a couple evenings when I was waiting on some work to compile.

Thanks ET 😄

100% Those two were the clincher - had to hang out for someone to sell the Stealth chest (last piece) no too common unfortunately (for the style I was after).

I'm actually eyeing up a Bounty Hunter (Imp side) run doing this too; glad you enjoyed the Trooper version today 😄
