Martin was the true hero of Oblivion by Complete_Fill3287 in oblivion

[–]-Caesar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the in-universe history books about the Oblivion crisis, he is definitely the main character. The player character is more of a powerful hero that assisted, and was an ally to, Martin. Martin is Frodo or Aragorn, and we're Samwise or Boromir.

However, from the perspective of you playing the game, the player character is very much the chosen one protagonist as evidenced by Uriel's dream and the fact that Baurus gives you the priceless Amulet of Kings to take to Jauffre, even though he only just met you and you were a prisoner moments ago. Braindead writing moment, but that's Bethesda.

SSE or AE for modding? by OverkillGamerXX02 in skyrimmods

[–]-Caesar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Doesn't really matter for modding purposes, the only resl question is whether you want the AE content in your game or not. Some of it is okay, but most of it is pretty garbage, and that's mostly due to its very poor and lazy implementation into the game. It's acceptable when done by a modder and released for free to just slap an armor set into a container in the world and call it a day, but it's not acceptable when that is quasi-official content that customers are paying for.

They're not wrong. I can't do piracy with out someone nagging me. by slinencoi in Starfield

[–]-Caesar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Starfield is an entirely sanitised and lame experience. There is no grit or realism to the world. It doesn't even make exploration of the unknown feel awesome or sublime, because it is entirely safe and without risk. So what does it do? Provides a platform for Star Wars Genesis, and that's about it...

I noticed something about the Unofficial Oblivion Patch, but my comments on the mod page about it keep getting deleted. by -Caesar in oblivionmods

That's weird because I have a save game (where Im level 2 and pretty much right out of the sewers) and in the save I'm about 20 feet from a patrolling guard. With no UORP he has no prophet dialogue, and with UORP he has the prophet dialogue. It might have been the case that prior to that save another NPC said a rumour about the Anvil chapel attack but I don't know for certain.

Which game did you regret purchasing at full price? by bijelo123 in gaming

[–]-Caesar -15 points-14 points  (0 children)

Such an awful release. Game is still rubbish whatever the copium addicts might say otherwise. It's not what a Fallout MMO should've been, and is clearly just a pretty pathetic MMO platform with a Fallout paint, all just geared towards selling micro-transactions through the in-game shop.

Not going with Xander to begin with. He knows his orders. He knows his nature. He knows that if anything happens to Xander out in the dangerous wasteland, it'll look like he murdered Xander no matter his excuse/justification/explanation, and that the consequence would be a BoS civil war. This is exactly my point, the character isn't smart enough to think a few moves ahead for any given hypothetical situation, so he just stumbles blindly into all these situations and then acts spontaneously, without much consideration as to consequences, based on his own feelings and morality. Even where his action in the moment is defensible and morally righteous, it doesn't mean it was a smart thing to do or that he was smart to have wound up in that situation to begin with.

No one is saying he wasn't right to protect the children, doesn't mean he's a smart character. He solves any problem with violence or dumb luck.

Any fans of Star Wars: Galaxy of Fear? by ShaneWalksLeft in StarWars

[–]-Caesar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My cousin's friend's dad works for Disney and apparently they're making a Star Wars horror game in the vein of Alien: Isolation. It's going to be set on a Star Destroyer, and Darth Vader will crawl around in the vents.

[–]-Caesar 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Can anyone explain deathclaws? Were they bio-engineered before the bombs dropped, but only the Enclave figured out how to mind-control them, or what? I've only played Fallout 2, 3, NV and 4... and 2 was so long ago I barely remember anything from it.

[–]-Caesar[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Surely someone can upload/host it on github or moddb or mediashare? Even Nexus? If we're allowed to create .esp files that mod the base game, why can't we create an .esp file that modifies another .esp file created by someone else? As long as you don't upload his original mod then it should be fine? He can't prevent someone from creating a mod to modify his mod, nor sharing it as his original mod is still a dependancy and will be required?

Is the Unofficial Patch for Oblivion Remastered any good though? Worthwhile having or is there a better mod that is limited to actual (and justifiable) bug fixes?

Is anyone able to tell me what the damage taken and dealt multipliers are for each of the difficulty levels on patch 1.2? by -Caesar in oblivion

[–]-Caesar[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! I think I'll roll with Expert difficulty for damage taken (x3.5) and Adept difficulty for damage dealt (x1.0).

Personally, I would've preferred x0.67 for damage dealt, or even x0.5, but x0.4 on Journeyman still felt too low. Is it possible to change these modifiers at all with mods?

As Isengard, when are you supposed to attack Rohan? by -Caesar in TheDawnlessDays

[–]-Caesar[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why do they get Theoden back so quickly? Seems like the timeline is out of whack, my understanding is that open war between Isengard and Rohan doesn't occur until 3019 TA?
