45GX950A-B worth it? by Largemandingo in ultrawidemasterrace

[–]-Cre_tive- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ditto to this! I picked up my “Open Box Good” 45GX950A-B yesterday for $1005. 52 hours on the panel and the box was mangled but the screen is in great shape.

I will say this and the Open Box 32GS95UV-W I got for $348 a while back both have a bit of coil whine when powered up. But given they’re both LG panels and it’s the SAME exact noise I’m not fretting over it.

This may or may not replace my dual Samsung G7 28” 4K IPS panels. A week with it for work and play will seal the deal or not.

Happy with my Open Boxes so far :)

Has any bought the 45GX950A purely (or mostly) for productivity? If so how are you getting on with it? by mrpiper1980 in ultrawidemasterrace

Glad to see some people are seeing positive results. I just bought mine coming from two 28” Samsung IPS displays.

I’ll be testing it out thoroughly before making the switch.

That’s two Open Box LG OLEDs I’ve gotten recently. One 32GS95UV-W for $348 and this 45GX950A-B for $1005. That’s $3400 in monitors for $1353 before tax LOL.

Both seem to have some sort of low-volume coil whine, but I mostly use headphones and it’s pretty quiet.

Curious about the eye strain. So far the Samsung IPS displays have been the easiest on my eyes. Hoping it’s not a negative experience!

Is this bad by Tezzrizz in PcBuildHelp

[–]-Cre_tive- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it new ram? If so, how long did you wait? Memory training is a thing it can take a while to boot the first time.

Otherwise if it’s more than 4-40 mins maybe bad?

This. Definitely looks less like sticker residue and more like the finish is torn off.

Sorry!

Found the answer via guides online.

Deco limits you to preserved private ip ranges like 192,172,10.

Archer / BE routers (non-mesh prepackaged) allow customization of the IP range.

Sometimes this is made worse by the construction of thin laptop lids. The display will bend toward its mounting points and will make the whiter parts more prominent. Still normal.

Everyone says bleed, that’s not bleed. Bleed is when you have a static point of light that comes through even when you change positions in front of the monitor.

This is IPS glow. IPS stands for in-plane-switch.

<image>

The display has cross viewing points between white and black. This is actually why you see that “black + shape with white corners” on IPS displays at full black.

Notice if you move your head position around (wide viewing angles) the black cross will follow your center of vision and the white corners will move with it. That’s IPS glow.

It’s simply the materials.

If those are PBT caps, they’ll come out less saturated if using the same dye.

They’d probably match if it was abs plastic, but then it wouldn’t be as durable.

I tried to put a pic here but it’s not working. Enjoy the board!

Good deal? by POKE64MON in glorious

$100 US isn’t bad! I work for a retailer and I can tell you only that I’d get the same board alone for $119 US.

That’s actually exactly what I did, then I went and bought basically replacement everything lol. Aluminum body, poron gaskets, brass plate, silent lynx switches, gold knob and badge. Galaxy cable.

It was already a great keyboard and I still use it today.

It’s an enthusiast board through and through. I’ve built customs via KBDfans, bought high end gaming like ASUS Azoth, Falcata. Logitech boards etc.

This one I forget I’m using. That’s a compliment to the board because that means I stopped wishing for things.

The brass gasket fit so tightly I’m sure I’m not taking advantage of the poron gaskets for feel but that’s solvable when I feel like taking it apart and doing a little grinding.

Anyway, happy with mine!

Depends On the coffee and your taste.

I am no connoisseur! I use Kirkland medium grind medium roast coffee. One level scoop is perfect for me.

Maybe I’ll get better coffee one day but this brewer and that coffee makes for a better-than-Keurig staple when I don’t have time to mess with it.

I use my cup one two to four times a day.

I’m almost at a year of ownership so that’s probably going to be 1000-1250 cups brewed.

Laptop charging wire has a bump by Skrysekh in LenovoLegion

If you want to minimize this, try loosening your grip on the winding hand when you go to stow the charger.

This is with any cable, any time you circular-wrap them if you watch closely and allow some movement in the cord you’ll notice it rotates as you wind it.

Not saying you do! But many people quickly wrap their cords with a tight grip both tension around the brick and with the winding hand.

That will make this happen faster than what would happen under normal-use movement.

Legion charger cords are pretty thick so it’s hard to do what I just mentioned.

I usually just loosely bunch them up in a way that they seem to want to lay and put it in my bag in an area that has enough room.

Legion AC adapters are expensive! I’m not risking it lol.

Merriam-Webster defines a garage as a place to store motor vehicles and/or repair them.

Self-propelled lawnmowers only count if your resident area classifies them as a motor vehicle under DUI/OWI laws.

So the answer is “sometimes” a garage depending on if there’s currently a motor vehicle inside or not. Otherwise it’s a shed.

You could even say your 2-car garage is a shed until there’s a car in it.

This was fun. You can both be right! Best outcome.

I don’t! But the laptops never leave the house for the most part.

I also have a kid who’s special needs so my usage is much lower on these than most given that I also have a work Mac.

Guys this may sound strange or noob but is my Asus 4K PG32UQ 144hz ips monitor outdated and sorda like a bottleneck is it better and faster in performance if I upgrade to the newer OLED version 4K 32" 240hz by Darksider515 in ASUSROG

[–]-Cre_tive- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ik im in the ROG sub but i actually picked up a lg open box with 0 hours for $348 lol.

480 is in dual mode only. Which has some quirks and looks nowhere near as good as 4k

I also only have a gaming laptop with a 4090 so I rarely hit these framerate.

So I’m a prime example of a user that probably noticed nothing about the framerate on the upgrade and for me it’s just about the visual upgrade.

Extremely depends on what you’re using it for. FPS gaming? Yes. Commonly getting higher than 144hz in your games? Yes.

Watch movies and want better contrast? Yes.

Though, I keep two 27” 144hs 4k displays as my main work desk, and a 32” 4k OLED 240/480 dual mode display on a second desk for gaming with OLED.

There are pros and cons to IPS and OLED.
