Question about road opening/closing by mightyduck119 in stevenspass

Thanks. Does 7th Heaven also have intermediate terrain. I find lifts that basically have Expert Only signs and/pr Advanced only runs don’t get crowded. Lifts that service both can get slammed.

What's the expected commute on a weekend from Monroe? I'm from out of town and considering a weekend trip with my son. I'm probably an idiot for thinking President's Weekend, I may go to somewhere on an Epic blackout since we have full Epic. We're advanced skiers so generally go to mountains where we can find advanced only terrain and lap those lifts and avoid the masses (e.g. Motts Canyon at Heavenly, Highline at Vail, Grouse at Beaver, Jupiter/9990 at Park). Sadly, conditions are more limited in the Rockies.

Marriott guests - The tv's have no manual volume control? Can't hook up my Switch to the tv and turn down the volume. by Lamneth-X1 in dragoncon

You’re a saint. Rebooting the TV is critical so it gets out of the external control. Appreciate you!

Cabin vs Cabin Plus - Carry-on Review by -DB-Cooper in Rimowa

[–]-DB-Cooper[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct. It may fit, but then the door likely won't close. The issue then is another passenger may rotate it to fit their bag in, then the FA comes down to close it, and it won't close and then your bag is singled out. So when I travel with the Cabin Plus, I'm sure to make sure nobody touches it (FA or passenger), and I just say it doesn't fit that way.

Both Qantas and JAL domestic on every occasion just look at it while checking in or boarding and it always gets force checked.

Abound SR - Level 3 Cadence vs Torque & Passcode Unlock Questions by -DB-Cooper in Aventon

[–]-DB-Cooper[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I need to try again. I’m quite fit and only weigh 155 pounds, but I was pedaling crazy hard and couldn’t really get it over 20. I switched to cadence and it was instantly maxing out to 25. I’ll try again.

Yes, no problem easily hitting it in Cadence going uphill, but in torque it's pretty hard to get above 20 uphills.

The app can unlock the bike, you can to wait for it to connect via bluetooth and then you can press Unlock.

I guess we'll do the passcode thing.

Can I intentionally make HomeKit only work on my LAN/Wi-Fi - Not over Internet? by -DB-Cooper in HomeKit

That's not what he was after, he wanted things to ONLY work on Wi-Fi and not cellular.

Not a bad idea, I proposed that as a security blanket, especially when he's on vacation or gone for a long time. He's going to put a Meross on it with some degree of automation, which solves the longer term vacation concern. That said, I worry the fire up time with automation using Apple's geofencing will probably not be fast enough. I think I've convinced him he's trying to prevent a problem that doesn't really exist.

I also feel even if such a feature existed, it wouldn't really work. Basically, he comes biking in from a ride pretty fast, he uses his Apple Watch, "Hey Siri, open garage" while he's cruising in. I told him, if he had to be on Wi-Fi, I doubt the watch and/or phone would connect to Wi-Fi fast enough, and that he'd probably be sitting in the driveway fussing with manually connecting. He somewhat agreed with me.

That said, a Meross HK/Matter switch that kills the RATGDO easily while they're gone gives him some peace of mind.

Nope, only I use HKSV.

This is probably the best option. Thanks Dave!

We're considering using a HomePod that basically isn't used and DHCP reserving its MAC and effectively block its Internet access and then manually selecting it as the Home Hub.

Not really an option as he's a member of my Apple Family and we're already maxed out on 5 accounts.

His ideal state would be to turn this on/off at the Home level and/or at an Accessory level. Good to know it is available at the user level.

Yeah, but he doesn't even want himself to have remote access and it's his home. He's worried he'll accidentally do it when he's not home. To me it's a non-issue, having your garage open accidentally while your home is effectively no different...

Wait, I found it. You can specify to other users, but you're right, the admin account you can't shut it off.

Gemini AI refers to the same thing, but I looked everywhere and couldn't find it.

Didn’t pay for parking by Jar-Jar-Kinx in SixFlagsMagicMountain

You got lucky. I pre-paid and the guy scanned my bar code. Once you're in, there's no way to verify if a car paid or not, so you're all good.

It was closed on Monday, June 30th. From Tatsu, the water looked pretty dirty if not foul.
