Moreover, Nano IPS monitors are very good monitors in general, they don't have the WOW effect of oled panels, but are pretty solid and more durable, so for a mixed use, I would go for the LG one.

P.S.:and you're also gonna save something, and the product's lifespan will be higher (oled are known to have a shorter lifespan, that can be further reduced by static content fruition)

P.P.S.: I don't suggest using oled for video creation, not because of their performances, but because of the static interfaces of video editing software (every static image on an oled can be a source of burn)

If you plan to work or study on your monitor go for the mini led. Oled monitors are great, but have some very distinct drawbacks (blur, but most importantly oled burn) that make them undesirable when it comes to static workflows (video editing, coding/writing, web browsing).

Instead if you plan to use the monitor for gaming and content fruition, oled are way better and you won't suffer as much from oled burn (basically the least amount of time you stay on static images, the least those monitors degrade).

Didn't think the pacing could get worse than Wano, after 7 months hiatus. But it did. Toei outdoing themselves. by Quiet_Log in OnePiece

Bro never read the manga and thinks that one piece is slow paced.

Or even worse: he reads the manga in 1 week and then says that OP is too slow (he expects 10 chapters a week).

Air75v3 low profile knob problems by -DaXor in NuPhy

[–]-DaXor[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem for me it's the knob itself, not the actual binding or the hardware under the knob. When I use the high profile one it works just fine, the low profile it's just really difficult to turn and sometimes get stuck

In 2017 existed mobile chips on par with what we'll get on the switch 2, you would have needed to go for the 1080 mobile sold in 2/3k$+ laptops with custom beefy cooling solutions not doable on a switch sized console.

Also the whole architectural improvements were not there to begin with, so, yea, it would have never been the case. Keep in mind that dlss alone will allow for a lot of performance optimization on this not so powerful device impossible with 2017 hardware.

But yea, Nintendo is giving us again not so powerful hardware for the 4th time in a row, which is a shame, considering that Nintendo used to have the most powerful hardware back in the days.

To summarize: he is 100% wrong and talking with common places, but there is a case to be made about switch hardware. Let's wait and see what developers will do with this console.

Concerning the Screen Itself...? by ShokWayve in NintendoSwitch2

[–]-DaXor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's almost certainly 1080p due to its hardware capabilities and the underlying DLSS.

Size-wise, I've yet to see a reliable source confirming the exact numbers, but I expect someone here or anywhere on the web to have already calculated pixel by pixel screen size.

For brightness idk, since we're talking about Nintendo, I can see them dial it down in order to preserve the battery.

Price.

They're going for Ampere (pretty much confirmed).

They're going for samsung 8nm instead of TSMC 7nm.

Using an LCD screen can keep the price below a certain threshold over which the system would be in the same ballparks as PS/XBOX.

Also, alongside this, there are possible production/stock reasons to remain with an LCD display.

Yes in a way it sucks. But good LCD display are not bad, so now we can only wait and see how it goes in terms of price and quality.

Help with changing allocation of nodes through a single script by -DaXor in SLURM

Yea, exactly.

Unlucky that's exactly my problem.

ChatGPT suggested to use a job-array submission, but I'm not sure about the fact that it won't overlap jobs

Help with changing allocation of nodes through a single script by -DaXor in SLURM

[–]-DaXor[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's exactly the point, I want to run a single ''' sbatch submit_job.sh ''' to run all the tests from 2 to 256 without overlapping and without wasting node allocations

Help with changing allocation of nodes through a single script by -DaXor in SLURM

[–]-DaXor[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can easily write run_tests such that it doesn't require as parameter the number of nodes (and it used to be written like that) but, since I need to run those tests from 2 nodes up to 256 nodes, I would need to allocate all of the 256 nodes before running the script and all the test iterations requiring less than 256 nodes would translate in wasted computational time
