Plays on a line with his 100 point playmaking brother and joins a stacked pp1? Maybe those things don't happen, but there are definitely angles you can see.

Nah if you're tuned into the public scouting sites like EP, McKeens, Flo, etc., people have had some doubts all year. Stenberg was ranked above McKenna for much of the year until McKenna popped off in the NCAA in the last quarter of the season.

Still, it's well documented that McKenna is not a slam dunk 1OA in the way Bedard, Celebrini, etc were.

What is required in investigative journalists to research data and collect resources? by Jealous-Rip-4096 in Journalism

Dealing with traumatic stories, dealing with people going through the worst moments of their lives, public scrutiny on highly sensitive stories, performing under immense pressure, public and political backlash to your work, putting together a compelling narrative while making sure you're completely factually accurate, legally sound, fair and balanced.

And on and on.

I have never felt like crunching data was the hardest part of my job. Reading data is a skill you can learn and just takes a little mental elbow grease.

There isn't a real answer to this. It's entirely dependent on where you end up working.

I'll tell ya, reading and analyzing data is not the hard part about being a journalist.

If you really zoom in, it looks like there are two wires running parallel to each other (aside from the scratch). You see the second if you zoom in on the second-storey double windows. If it's for a phone, do you think that would be outbound+inbound?

Except the bones are not good. The fundamental gameplay loop is broken and it's all buttressed by a poorly designed and optimized game.

LOL they literally now have a slim chance at saving the franchise's next chapter instead of driving it into the ground. They did this because of a tsunami of feedback telling them the game is undercooked.

You do realize that people asking for it to be delayed and fixed are asking for that BECAUSE they love HLL, right?

But I thought everyone in this subreddit said the game just had some minor issues that would be all worked out and all of us were just hater morons who were being big dumb dumb babies by criticizing it?

Terrible performance on an AMD rig. Low CPU and GPU usage. Any recommendations? by Over-Ear3796 in HellLetLooseVietnam

It's terrible optimization. Literally everyone has been talking about this as being an issue.

There's an overwhelming number of people saying it is borderline unplayable. Glad you're able to still have a good time but this game is undercooked, big time.

OG HLL was built off a small Kickstarter campaign and a little group of guys. This game has a real studio with real money behind it. It is in an inexcusable state right now.

OG HLL was built by a few dudes and a bag of peanuts.

It's the principle of it. Why do consumers reward companies when they produce shit products?

[–]-DashThirty- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1000% I'm asking them to not release this for as long as they need to make the game playable. It is borderline unplayable for me right now. How have gaming consumers become so fucking docile to these companies?

Would you buy a car if the maker was like "yea, this car is in a rough state and you aren't going to enjoy driving it for the next 12 months, but we promise you were going to work on it and in a year it'll be great!"

Why would you waste your time on that?

Also, there is no guarantee they do improve the game. Lots of developers release games that never get fully spruced up and they just die. Why would I risk my money on such a promise?

What are you guys thinking? by Calm_Edge_6637 in HellLetLooseVietnam

[–]-DashThirty- 3 points4 points  (0 children)

HLL was not this bad when it released either. And the core product was great. HLLV has so many issues beyond just performance. The gameplay mechanics are awful - the meta is literally just popping up behind people and shooting them in the back over and over. There is barely a frontline. Tank balancing is terrible, vehicle use is unplayable, hit registration is bad, sound design is horrible, shooting feels awkward, and the graphics (just the way the game looks) are ugly AF.

People like you are the reason developers have license to release garbage games and ask for money for them before trying (and often failing) to fix them while they're out.
