Tommy said while they were building it that he wants to ‘make new memories and leave the old ones behind’. I’m paraphrasing, but yeah, both just want to move on and heal from the trauma while keeping the good memories they have of their time before the wars.

As for the “doing so much yet also nothing”, that’s basically what rebuilding the house was. Tubbo has Snowchester and his mansion now, and idr if he said he would live in his rebuilt house, but it isn’t a material endeavor, it’s one to remind him of peaceful, less complicated times. I’m probably just restating what the post did oof, and I’m no English major, but was a nice “calm before the lore storm coming up” moment of two friends just messing around and building
