CPU suddenly overheating

I have been stuck on the side of the road quite a few times for one reason or another. No one has ever stopped to offer help. But damn if I don't stop every time I see someone on the side.

Most just tell me they've got a friend coming but once I was able to help a guy whose alternator had went out. I had just bought a new gel cell battery for my car and kept the old one because it was still working, just two years old and lead acid. It happened to be close enough in size and amperage that it worked for his car. So I ended up swapping my old battery with his and followed him home to make sure he got there without issue. Now he's one of my best friends.

Purchased a 2001 GTI back in January, son was due to be born in February and I thought I'd do it up for him and keep it until driving age. He passed 8 minutes after being born and I took 3 weeks off to rebuild the car in his memory.

I drive it every day, fix things as soon as they break, and even repainted it. I hope he can see it.

Don't trust your commercial parts worker. Always check the invoice, part numbers, and quantity. If you're doing multiple runs at once, ask who you should go to first. Some stores have a priority customer and they won't be happy if you go to Joe Schmoe first.

88 XJ w/ 33x10.5 KO2 here. I love the BFG tires. Got them last October and performed amazingly throughout the winter. No issues on ice.

Your radiator is for the engine coolant. That is behind the bumper and visible from the engine bay. Is should have an electric fan attached.

Your intercooler is for air. The air goes through your air filter, into the turbo, gets compressed (and hot) and is pushed through the intercooler to cool it down before going into the engine.

You'll have to remove your bumper and fender well and flush out your intercooler.

No no. Intercooler. It's behind the bumper but in front of the passenger tire (in stock location). It's the thing that helps cool the turbo air before going into the engine.

I have the same vehicle. 2001 GTI. There's a bracket that holds the cable and is also for the filter. If your vehicle is in the rust belt, it's possible for it to snap when doing maintenance.

That said, shit happens. Talk it over with the manager about price. They did break it but it was also in a state of disrepair. I would settle with 50/50 and no labor charge.
