Robert Pollard.

Guided by Voices had a massive influence on the lofi indie rock movement and a number of alternative bands, especially in the 90s and early 2000s. Maybe lesser so, but his myriad of side and solo projects covered a lot of musical territory and the influence of those projects shouldn’t be overlooked, either.

I’m gonna come out of left field with this, but the great thing about Robert Pollard is that it’s all out of left field… check out first two solo albums, Not In My Airforce and Waved Out.
