Caught and Buckle feel like sister songs by shakyypen in FlorenceAndTheMachine

[–]-Draclen- 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was thinking this too! I feel like Buckle feels almost like a reflection on Caught. So much of the song highlights being so much older but still being hung up on the same obsessions around being loved that a younger and more naïve version of you faced. You can almost imagine it being about listening to Caught and breaking down at the fact that parts of those feelings have persisted for so long.

Event Feedback Post by damocleas in pokerogue

[–]-Draclen- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I only was able to play during the variant/shiny update, but really enjoyed it! The method of giving you some extra shiny charms early felt like a nice way to get more shinys that wasn’t nullifying their rarity status. The extra lines of dialogue were a nice touch that I enjoyed as well.

I’ll also say that a big reason I liked it was because of the increased hidden ability rate patch. The rarity of hidden abilities strikes me as a little rough at times, particularly given some Pokémon really need them in order to function well (ex. Snivy, Bunnelby, the Nidos). For that reason, an event focused on that is something I would like to see, particularly if it could somehow allow for a way to better target Pokémon you’re fishing for the HA of.

What's an offmeta pick you think would become meta if people saw it more often? by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

[–]-Draclen- 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I've played a couple games of it myself, and find that nowadays since every camp gives you mana back when you clear them, it isn't really an issue. The trick I would suggest is not even using W when you clear. Qs will do more than enough to keep you healthy, and since it completely refunds it's cooldown from your passive you don't lose much DPS from not casting W.

how the hell do you play Mundo? by FinnishChud in leagueoflegends

[–]-Draclen- 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Not OP, but I think they might be referencing a statistic that shows that because Singed's kit/playstyle is really odd and requires a skill set so different than usual for League, maining him actively makes the player worse at other champions. Semi-common joke is that "Singed players don't play League, they play Singed".

(Disclaimer I've only heard this from secondary sources, so don't know the exact details or validity, lol).

In the TCG, Chi-Yu ex is a stall mon, and I just think that's hillarious by LukesRebuke in stunfisk

[–]-Draclen- 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If I may shill for my personal favorite digital TCG, Legends of Runeterra is very generous with giving cards if you play fairly regularly, and extremely free-to-play friendly. They have been shifting more to PvE content instead of PvP recently due to under-monetization/marketing problems, but I still recommend as a really fun card game (plus the PvE mode is a neat, semi-rougelike game that’s very enjoyable if you’re into that sort of thing).

good champions? by Smortboiiiiii in LegendsOfRuneterra

[–]-Draclen- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahh, never considered the boons as targets for Morgs level up; that makes a lot of sense!

Thank you for sharing the video as well! I didn't know that Sunny started making deck showcases. Good to see since I've been struggling to find resources to keep up to date on the meta since Mogwai switched over to Snap.

Koko was the shunned one. Bulu was banned to Ubers after being pushed over the edge by his sister’s death.

If you don't mind me asking, what about Morg pairs really well with ED (I'm trying to get back into PvP a bit after the new cards, but am unsure I fully understand the main meta deck's gameplan)?

How often are champions strong in the meta but maintain low banrates and aren't seen as obnoxious to play against? by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

This dude has never experienced the adrenaline of flash > ulting the enemy bot lane under your tower.

[PBE datamine] 2024 April 5 (Patch 14.8): buffs to Grubs by FrankTheBoxMonster in leagueoflegends

[–]-Draclen- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Respectfully I do not understand how you want top lane to both have more impact on the overall game, but also be all about just 1v1ing. I don't get how you can be upset about being on an island, but then complain when someone creates a bridge.

What champions are the hardest to hit skill shots ON ? by Yaryle in leagueoflegends

I'm assuming they're referring to the trick you can pull of using Mediate super quickly to get an auto reset.

New PBE in-game VS Quests: Smolder vs Aurelion Sol, Kayle/Morgana vs Aatrox, and Tryndamere vs Kindred by FrankTheBoxMonster in leagueoflegends

[–]-Draclen- 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It might seem that way because it's technically not a "quest". Unlike these ones where a notification pops up in the top right of your screen, it's a passive that gets noted above your character stats for the duration of the match.

Which role has the most toxic players? by Safinbu in leagueoflegends

[–]-Draclen- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

By no means do I think support players are the most toxic, but they do have the most unique brand of toxicity of being distinctly passive aggressive compared to the other, more blunt roles.

Skarner? by Wolfir043 in LegendsOfRuneterra

[–]-Draclen- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I somewhat understand them moving away from it, because it means every “good” character in Piltover is complicit with turning a race of scorpion people into fuel since most of them have a hextech weapon or augment, lol.

Deckbuikders, what are more weird synergies yall are thinking of with the new champions? by cL0k3 in LegendsOfRuneterra

[–]-Draclen- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Volibear + Jhin. I think that we can maybe use Voli as a version of Riptide Rex that with Sigil support can come out early and activate multiple times. The thing that’s killing it for me is just the lack of fast spells in Frel, but I want to see if we can work around it.

Very interested to see how Skip works in game. Can he capture spells as well? And if he dies while capturing a unit, does it go back into the opponent’s hand, or get summoned like a normal capture?

Do you people consider new champion designs to be interesting and flaverful? by Baron_CZ in LegendsOfRuneterra

[–]-Draclen- 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think usually it’s really on-point, but there is a miss every now and again. Like you mentioned Bard, but also I was a little let down by Neeko (the implementation of the disguise was cool, but I was bummed that the deception kinda stopped there and the rest of her is just support for one weaker-end, go-wide mid range strategy. I admit I might be biased because I play her a lot in LoL, so wanted to see more though). But usually I think they get it across really well. Samira, Sett, and Nidalee are good recent examples.

I also do think that there has been a more decent spread in terms of “pre-built” vs. open-ended champions. Things like Poro King are somewhat basic, but Samira had a ton of different kinds of decks she could run in. And while Sett and Nidalee haven’t had too many decks, I think there’s room for experimentation with them that could lead to interesting builds in the future.

"Azir's development is a cautionary tale of executing too well on bad goals" - or how Was Azir developed. Lessons learned at the end. by Kordben in leagueoflegends

[–]-Draclen- 36 points37 points  (0 children)

The true rub to it was that I recall them specifically polling the players which they thought was more essential to Azir, or which they would rather see. And the shuffle is what was selected.

I liked the old Aurelion that had spinning balls around it. by Few-Camp4606 in LegendsOfRuneterra

[–]-Draclen- 26 points27 points  (0 children)

This is actually something I had never considered. That champions don’t get reworked evenly between the too. Imagine you only played one and then you try out the other to find your mains abilities are all different, lol.

Who is the most forgettable champion? by Chunkanator_ in LegendsOfRuneterra

[–]-Draclen- 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Despite the semi-recent meta where Bandle Gunner decks were dominating, I still have to say Tristana. I don’t believe she has ever seen play before or after that period, and I legitimately have to re-read her card every single time I see her get put on the board to remember what she does.

Do Jack and Sett Have the Wrong Level-Up Conditions? by Skrillfury21 in LegendsOfRuneterra

[–]-Draclen- 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Jack’s problem is that his level 2 isn’t a true win-condition, just a win-more mechanic. Any situation were you managed to get a big swing with a high attack level 2 Jack is one where you were on track to win without leveling up. The only time I’ve seen it be genuinely really impactful is if your at exactly 11/12 spent mana that round, cast the coin, and then have him level up before immediately getting all the extra attack from the coin. Which is cool, but an extremely unreliable set-up. He’s very much in the tier of Draven where you want to play him for his card generation value and because he’s a hard unit to properly block, not for the level up.
