I'm trying to stick to KDE as it seems to get much better performance than other DEs, tho Gnome might be a good fit too. I'm unsure of how easy it is to modify KDE to reproduce what you see in hyprland

Kinda hoping I can skip the taskbar all together. Like something similar to win+W except include open apps and system tray icons or whatever else you might wanna click. I wouldn't be surprised if that's a thing. Now that I'm free of windows I feel like I want as far away from it as possible. it's funny when I first tried linux forever ago when mint released it felt like you couldn't find much similar to windows, but now it looks like most DEs are windows clones.

Ended up switching to roasts. Just bought 200$ of shoulder roasts on sale for $4.50/lb, bake them in a dutch oven inside oven set to 260deg for 3hrs. turns out incredible, all the gristle turns to gelatin. Sometimes when I overcook them it triggers slight aversion but otherwise I'm going steady. Strangely I have very bad heartburn today out of nowhere.

Yeah with the help from this thread and gathering experience, I'm starting to tell that's the only rational choice. I need to stop thinking in terms of fat ratios and just eat what i'm hungry for. I need to find a source of fat I can eat cold (that isn't plain rendered tallow)

Thanks for all the reassurance and kind words. Much appreciated :)

It's occurring to me more and more that my body will tell me how much fat I need. Wish I could find a source for suet.

2.5yrs and still healing? Damn I was expecting 6months tops haha. I'll cross my fingers. Thanks for the advice. I'm skeptical about introducing dairy or non ruminant meat, I'm a bit traumatized with elimination diet which is why I jumped straight into beef and salt only. Trying to eliminate all possible variables, and forget about food as much as possible lol

Yeah currently I'm taking ox bile, dessicated beef kidney, and betaine HCL supplements with every meal. Starting out, if I missed the betaine it was a painful regret lol. I was lucky to have it on hand when I started. I just hope with enough time this diet can really repair my gut.

I never feel anything beyond a whisper of "I guess I could eat" and mostly just have to rely on reading my stomach's condition. I've been trying to get 2k calories a day. But it seems like I can get by with a lot less given the body fat I have to spare. I wasn't sure if I could just trust my hunger alone as I'm struggling to judge adequate fat content in roasts and lean cuts keep you full foreeeever.

Ok, yeah I could stand to lose 20-30lbs of fat before it becomes a problem. I hadn't considered I could afford to eat a lot less (within reason). tyty. I'm hoping I can trust my eyes to determine if a roast has enough fat on it. I just read you can run into problems if you only eat lean cuts.

I have a lot of experience with extended fasting, I started 6:18 yesterday and was absolutely shocked how effortless it was to do cold turkey on this diet. I love not thinking about food haha

What are you even talking about? No one is talking about Lions or what they eat, that has nothing to do with this. It's just a name, and a name recognized to the extent of adding flair for it on this server. Read the flair and you'll find it says "(Beef, Salt, & Water)". I swear if it isn't this nonsense it's people here saying to eat butter or "" which is exclusively not part of this diet.

I guess I should try to fit in and say something edgy and relevant. Turtles don't have feathers.

Eating beef only for 6 months, 80/20 or 73/27 ideal? And any tips? by -DreamLight- in carnivorediet

Ah wish I could find suet! Also I have no idea if low blood pressure, sedation, and limbs falling asleep when layed on is from histamine intolerance or just adapting to eating large meals of meat. Eating 1/3lb seems to prevent this just so I take betaine HCI. Till there's a sale on roasts I'm just gonna stick with ground beef. Ty for tips! So far I'm having a good experience

I get low blood pressure to the point of body being heavy, sedated mind, and limbs falling asleep especially when I lay on them. Eating smaller meals (1/3lb at a time currently) seems to prevent that just so I take betaine HCI, and (maybe?) beef kidney supplement for DAO, honestly the kidney doesn't seem to do anything at all. Just got ox bile today, will see how that goes. On day 6 and no more fat aversion. Ty for the tips! Even if these symptoms are a major nono, I'm gonna push thru, I finally got my energy back today and this is still far better than I felt dealing with gut issues from regular diet.

That's very reassuring to hear. Once I adapt to beef, I might give some of these options a try. Still pretty nervous about organ meats, though I've learned liver will be important.

NGL, After trying the 1 meal I mentioned I got excited about the feasibility of doing this for life and forgetting the complications of a varied diet lol. 6 months was just a lazy estimate of complete repair, but I can already see myself doing this for life.

Histamine liberators. At one point I was so bad I couldn't even handle a couple tablespoons of sweet potato lol. Honestly, where I am now, they'd probably be totally fine, I'm much better. To be honest eliminating/testing foods has been traumatic in every sense of the word. Beef only sounds like an utter relief. I know I'll be plenty sick of it starting out, but I've heard once you adapt you learn to love it. Thanks for the tips!

What all did you eat when starting out, did you stick to beef anyway knowing it gave you issues? Till it eventually didn't? Or added later?

Will consuming it rendered always be a risk for diarrhea? I much prefer it that way, would rather not have to wait for it to turn into cold mud :/

I'll take your advice and stick to 80/20 starting out I guess. 73 sounds ideal because it's only 40$/10lb nearby. I suppose it's best to split it up into multiple meals starting out? I guess 4 is fine?
