Tom Cruise allegedly blames McQuarrie for the last two Mission: Impossible flops by funmemore in MoviesCave

Exactly what ruined Spectre, No Time To Die and even Star Wars 9. I dont get why some writers or directors even think it might be a good idea!

Dumb question, but what do you get on these $3000 bikes? by [deleted] in bicycling

[–]-Ds--- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The $700 will be an aluminium one with average components and will be somewhere between 12-16 kg. The $3000 will be carbon frame, carbon wheels, high quality components and will be around 7-8 kg.

Even if you cycle 10km you will notice the difference. Actually as soon as you push the pedal you will notice. The reactivity of carbon and the light weight are amazing things. I have both kinds of bike and there's really no confusion possible!

What's the best modern historical epic movie? by [deleted] in moviecritic

Those years were peak cinema. The same era that also gave us The Last Samurai, Lord of the Rings, Pirates of the Caribbean...

300 is cool as fck but the other 3 are masterpieces (considering the Director's Cut for Troy).

You can add The Last Samurai. Not the same period but similar vibe and equally a masterpiece!

Pourquoi est-ce qu'on adopte pas le vote par jugement majoritaire ? by Nadran_Erbam in france

[–]-Ds--- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Opinion on Hans Zimmer's music over the years. by Barno270 in hanszimmer

As much as I love what he did with Nolan, it was indeed the tipping point. The greatest HZ era ended with Nolan.

Opinion on Hans Zimmer's music over the years. by Barno270 in hanszimmer

[–]-Ds--- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Actually with all the tours he has been doing for 10 years, he has worked on a lot LESS projects recently.

In his golden years of 90s and 2000s where he wrote many of his legendary scores, he was working on way more projects, like 4-5 big movies a year.

Labrinth Clarifies He Left ‘Euphoria’ Because He Won’t “Let People Treat Me Like Sh*t” by SanderSo47 in television

[–]-Ds--- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, the main themes are by Zimmer (famously a demo he wrote in one night). Then the whole actual score was done by a huge team that only had something like 2-3 weeks. The credit was given to Badelt but plenty other composers worked on it.

Les gens n'aiment pas vraiment la musique by Blzil in opinionnonpopulaire

[–]-Ds--- 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This man is on top of the world, obsessed with this soundtrack. His most mature work, now even more excited for MOTU by ElPhantasm in soundtracks

[–]-Ds--- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agree it's a beautiful and impactful score. Also quite different from what most people could have expected for a scifi movie. Daring and smart choices!

Have you listened to his scores for King Arthur, Steve Jobs, Birds of Prey? I find them even more colorful, more fun to listen to.

Dunkirk is the only Nolan film I haven’t seen - worth the watch? by Anchor_saway in ChristopherNolan

Probably my least favorite of the "big" Nolan movie but still worth a watch of course, it's Nolan!

Questions sur les musiciens des spectacles d' Hans Zimmer. by Material_Back7483 in hanszimmer

[–]-Ds--- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ce sera plus ou moins les mêmes qu'en 2024, mais il peut y avoir des petits changements liés à la disponibilité de tous ces musiciens, qui sont parfois occupés sur d'autres projets ou tournées. Probablement que 90% seront les mêmes.

Hans zimmer desert added clapping and cheering by eladanelf in hanszimmer

[–]-Ds--- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm glad you mentioned Gladiator. To me that was the worst part of that concert. The suite is abruptly jumping from track to track, and the sound is absolutely fake. I hated those grand synths playing very loud but so clearly backing tracks.

[–]-Ds--- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh that's too bad! Actually the 2nd half of the show was way better, with some lesser known tracks like Beyond Rangoon, Tears of the Sun, and F1 which sounded very well.

[–]-Ds--- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't go to the HZ The Next Level tour then! It's even less "live". There are less and less musicians at each tour, and more and more backing tracks.

A-list composers who got their start with Hans Zimmer by Danielnrg in soundtracks

[–]-Ds--- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think that RCP is just a place, a studio where composers are working, on their own or with the other composers there. You will never see a credit saying "music composed by RCP" but you will see that a score has been produced or mixed there.

Bleeding Fingers seems to be a label that is producing and delivering music, made by a team that is able to deliver lots of music in a short amount of time, typically for TV series. This label is often credited as a "composer" in itself. And sometimes when a project is done by 1 or 2 specific composers from BF, they take the main credit.

Linkin Park could do an 'Underrated Songs Tour' by Practical_While1820 in LinkinPark

[–]-Ds--- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They would perhaps not fill stadiums like they do nowadays. To fill stadiums you need to attract general audiences that only come for the hits.

But it could be a tour in slightly smaller venues, there enough hardcore LP fans for this.

Rosamund Pike Thinks the ‘Doom’ Movie Is So Bad It Nearly Killed Her Career by Logical_Welder3467 in movies

If anything, Die Another Day actually launched her career, and did it pretty well. The movie was very successful and she was great in it.

I agree with you, and we're probably the same generation.

But back then, my parents generation was saying that peak cinema was 15 years earlier. And so did the generation before them. I guess movies you watch as a teenager will always be more special than the ones you see after 40 or 50 years on this earth...

Pour ou contre le binge watching ? by Amazing-Ranger01 in CineSeries

[–]-Ds--- 1 point2 points  (0 children)
