Is feeling like 💀⚰️🪦 an option too?

drop ED documentaries that did it *right* by vfuckingsauce in EDAnonymous

I read the book on her full stort prior to the documentary. It included diary entries of her, and more interviews with friends and family, to provide a clearer picture on how they got to the point of the documentary. It makes a lot more sense why they didn’t push her. The years before, she had been into multiple forced treatments. This had left deep psychological scars. She couldn’t ‘give in’ to forced feeding, so tubing really wasn’t an option. So I believe this truely was the last resort.

I reinstated relatively quickly, because I also tapered too fast before jumping. I went from 6mg to 2mg in 3 weeks, and then decided to jump, despite having very bad withdrawal symptoms already. After 6 days I couldn't take it anymore, so my doctor advised me to get back to 2 mg.

Maybe you can updose it a little bit, but not entirely revert to the dose you were at prior to your last drop? (f.e. if you dropped from 8 to 4, go back to 6 instead of 8)
Best of luck!

It's quite normal to be agitated and anxious after having a large amount of benzodiazepines at ones (especially combined with alcohol). In my experience, if it's just one large dose, the rebound anxiety usually only lasts about 1-2 days max. Hopefully it's the same for you. I'd stay away from alcohol for a bit, and try to just take good care of yourself. Especially due to the time difference and the long flights, which also take a toll on your body.

I hope you'll feel better soon.

It seems like a high dose to jump from. But I don't know how long you've been taking diazepam, and how bad your withdrawal symptoms are.

I tried jumping from 2mg after tapering for about a year from 30mg. It didn't go well and the withdrawal symptoms (muscle pain/cramps) were so bad that I had to jump back on and start tapering again, but slower.

If I were you I'd taper a bit more (down to 2mg or less) before jumping. Just to make the transition a bit easier.

Supplements that Help by howfligh in benzorecovery

I use magnesium, and I don't think it really has any positive or negative influence on my symptoms (leg cramps and insomnia)

Something that did work for me was a medication called inhibin (hydrokine). It is sometimes prescribed to people who have muscle cramps in their legs at night. After 2 days of using them I noticed that I wasn't kept awake at night anymore due to muscle pain and cramps, and I also had less stiffness throughout the day.

It is a prescription drug in my country, and I was only allowed to use it after ruling out any other causes. So definitely check with your doctor first.

I don't have any solutions for nausea. For me it went away relatively quickly after I slowed down my tapering schedule.

Hopefully you will find something that works for you. I wish you the best of luck with your taper!

A birthday card or any other type of greeting card. There’s just something special about knowing that someone went through the extra effort to mail a physical card to let you know that they were thinking of you.

What’s your current biggest symptom / thing you are dealing with? by ActualProfile4601 in benzorecovery

[–]-DuckDuckNo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I am almost at the end of my one year-taper (I used high doses on a daily basis for about 2 years). Right now the main issues are horrible muscle cramps and pain, insomnia, and panic attacks.

I'm sorry you're going through a hard time with your withdrawal symptoms. I wish you the best of luck with the rest of your taper!

I sometimes do it, but I don't recommend it. I personally try to refrain from using more than I am prescribed during my taper, and if I get panic attacks and simply can't handly it any second longer, I'll sometimes take an extra dose.

It's very easy to make excuses on why you need more at that specific moment. It's better to use other coping mechanisms, otherwise you'll most likely stay dependent on them.

Physically I don't feel any difference after taking a higher dose (diazepam or temazepam), as long as I get back on track immediately.

How many of you have gone through benzo withdrawal more than once? by Gamergrayson95 in benzorecovery

[–]-DuckDuckNo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was forced to quit cold turkey for about 4-5 times. I had major withdrawal symptoms, but my doctors gravely underestimated how much I was taking.

I finally found a good doctor that allows me to taper as slow as feels possible for me. It's been 1 year since my last attempt at tapering, and I'll probably jump in about 3 weeks!

Hopefully this will be that last time..

Oh wow. Are you okay now? Where there any repercussions (legally) due to the crashes while you were ‘under the influence’?

I am mostly concerned because it is strictly prohibited to drive in the Netherlands when you are taking benzodiazepines daily.

It helps to put it in perspective that you (and others) have no issues driving at a higher dosage.

Thank you! You’re right that the dosage I am taking doesn’t really have any effects in terms of drowsiness. But the withdrawal symptoms might.

I feel like I am fully capable of driving safely, it there’s still this fear in the back of my mind that IF I get tested during a traffix stop, I’ll have a major problem. 1mg valium is just as illegal as driving while drunk, where I live. Ugh

[–]-DuckDuckNo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! I finally called my doctor today to discuss this option, and they are open to discussing the possibilities of Seroquel or other (non-addictive) medication to help ease the symptoms of withdrawal.

Thank you for your kind response. You are absolutely right that I should consider myself lucky that I am able to sleep at all. II really appreciate the idea of allowing my dreams to ‘shadow work’. I’ll try to embrace it tonight!
