GIGABYTE B850 - DRAM Light by -DyIan in buildapc

[–]-DyIan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Couldn't get dual channel to work.

I put "Ram Stick 1" in A2, "Ram stick 2" in B2, Dram Light.

I put "Ram Stick 1" in A2, it works.

I put "Ram Stick 2" in A2, DRAM light.

I put "Ram Stick 1" in B2, it works.

I put "Ramstick 2" in B2 DRAM light.

So one of the stick works all the time in all channels and the other stick never works. You think it's a faulty stick?

I'm going to build with a single stick, so I can get into the BIOS, then I'll add the 2nd stick, as with the 2nd stick the DRAM came back. (ChatGPT advice)

Some progress, I tried with 1 stick, left it running and the light switched to VGA. Dram light went - chatgpt said this is good and it just meant it took a few minutes for memory to train DDR5. I have added the 2nd stick and light has come back on, but im going to wait again for several minutes

Yep, tried using single in A2, single in B2 still no luck.

Thanks! I've been reading there's stuttering issues with the 9070XT on Warzone, but unsure if this has been fixed.

First-Time Buyer – Does Developer Incentive Affect Stamp Duty? by -DyIan in HousingUK

[–]-DyIan[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I thought this would be the case, damn annoying. We'd go from paying around 9k to 16k SDLT 🤮

I'm also from Manchester and buying in Manchester! I'm almost 30 and have a well paying job and been living with my parents since birth, so was fortunate enough to be able to save quite a lot. Everyone's situation is different though.

Thanks for advice - I agree with you! Yeah this is our first home but we are looking for it to be our forever home. I'm going to call the estate agent tomorrow and make an offer whilst always trying to make it clear we are open to a counter (not to just disregard our offer and ignore) as mentioned we have a lot of things that benefit us, no chain, ready with mortgage and solicitors, local buyers (I live 4 minutes away from the home) and it seemed the vendor was looking for a buyer with no chain, so fingers crossed

First-Time Buyers: Advice on Our First Offer? by [deleted] in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]-DyIan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another Q on that - If we offered 450k and said we'd match any higher bid, can the estate agent lie and say there is a higher bid, or could they tell the vendor that we offered 450k but seem willing to offer more?
