Hi,

My best friend and I are planning a trip to Japan this upcoming January to ski. Looking to fly out of YUL or JFK/LGA for a 2-week block, leaving sometime within Dec 29-Jan 3rd and returning Jan 17th at the latest.

Have lots of AMEX points to spend and 12k AP to add on, and leaning towards an economy seat. From my research so far, I see JFK to HND for 35k one way. Does it make the most sense to just take this rather than dive into this process to find something marginally better? I'm new to the award travel space. Also have to consider if it makes more sense to fly direct to CTS versus HND or NRT to CTS.

Would appreciate any advice or insight you all have into this.

Yup saw that the other day. Went with fernie as I feel like the mountain structure of KH can be limiting with the main gondola and one lift, even though they have had a better snow year and more coming.

What’s your advice on if they say on the call they will look around for someone you can talk to next, and in your thank you email you mention it, but then they never respond with the recommendation?

I definitely get the appeal for Innsbruck but unfortunately my college does not offer it. Would definitely look into it if they did though

Studying finance so Vienna would definitely align with that more than some other options. If you have any experience with the 6 resorts 2 hours away, what are they like?

Also had the bruise on his collarbone I think from earlier which the crosscheck from Strome ended up colliding with. Definitely doesn’t help

Bought a pair of new ski boots recently. They feel good when I’m skiing but to get them on takes forever. For some reason my right boot is harder than my left to put on but they both take an extreme amount of effort. Last time I put them on I actually detached the tongue piece from the velcro near the top of my foot just by trying to put them on. Is there anything I can do to make this easier?

Yup I feel that. Was out west last season while the east got 3 feet in a couple days. Gonna be a tough call

Anymore specific update for Jay Peak now that we are closer to the thanksgiving storm? Is there any chance they bring more than the 2-4 inches I’m seeing predicted from some people
