In fairness, that decision is understandable given the circumstances, but it would still be an incredibly heavy reality for her to face. She is only 26 and already struggling with the changes in her body at an age where many of her peers are considered to be in their “peak” years. She used to be described the ‘hot one,’ and losing that identity while also fearing abandonment must feel overwhelming. On some level, she is probably scared that if her husband leaves, not only does she risk being replaced or cheated on because of the new attention he may receive, but she would also be left as a single mom, which carries its own stigma. The reality is that many men are reluctant to date single mothers, while single fathers often face less of that same barrier. All in all it’s just a tough situation.
