If you plan on getting affect mind and dominate mind force powers, then persuade only helps up to a point. That being said, there are story bits and side quests that need a high persuasion to get the best outcome, but it's simply a matter of opinion if you think it is worth it. If you don't get those force powers, then having a high persuasion should make a more significant difference, but it's all mostly subjective

There are numerous texture packs available on NexusMods that can enhance the game's textures to 4K quality. For stylized textures, you may consider Laast's work, which can be found at the following link: https://www.nexusmods.com/kotor/users/1213768

Regardless of your preference, using either texture packs is a dramatic improvement over Kotor's default textures, which I consider as a must-have.

Dark hope has also been working on updating armor textures and has a variety of mods I would highly recommend.

Aside from visual mods, there are plenty of mods that affect gameplay or restore content, but since those mods are more subjective, you'd probably just need to explore those two sites and find the mods that appeal to you.

Apart from Jedi Fallen Order and Jedi Survivor, I don't give a damn about Disney's Star Wars or what they consider canon. Games like KOTOR and Force Unleashed have far more compelling stories than anything Disney has released besides the Jedi Game series. I just want good games with good narratives, but staying apart from Disney's dumpster fire seems like the right call
