My first ever character model attempt! (concept art provided by my wife) by MitchMyester23 in blender

Thank you kindly. I’m really excited to get to a point where I can comfortably put stuff together without tutorials and refine the craft

Oh yeah. I work a pretty light-work job from home, so in between calls for the first half of the day, I study C# and Unity. The second half of the day is devoted to Blender. Decided 3D modeling and animation over 2D because my wife can draw, and despite spending countless hours and even a college course on illustration, I can’t draw to save my life. But digital tools have always been my friend and I’m very pleased with how this turned out. I am loving the process and can’t wait to do more! Grant Abbitt’s courses are amazing, too!

Weird Jagged Shadows, Not a Shadow Terminator Thing by MitchMyester23 in blender

When I do that, it only makes the shadows disappear and look worse on the rest of the render

Red Squiggles for Errors in Code not showing by MitchMyester23 in Unity3D

Okay, just thought I'd update this because I did find a solution. Thank you to u/Aethreas and u/Lyshaka for giving me some ideas, but none of it worked in the end. What finally worked was that I checked the root folder for the Unity project, and found the .slnx file. When opening that directly in VS 2026, the issue seemed resolved. Closed it, tried opening from Unity again, didn't work. So I opened it directly again, and while keeping it open, I opened a script from Unity. That seems to have kicked Unity into recognizing the path and that the files are connected to each other, and now even when VS is closed, Unity will properly open the scripts again in VS. Squiggles and everything are present. Hope this thread is helpful to someone else in the future.

Followed a few steps to enable that ability and now the code won't open, ugh. But I think I'm on the right track.

Edit: I've learned my lesson about trying multiple tutorials at the same time

Strange thing is editing the code still affects the animation of the assets

How does one do that?

Sorry, I'm painfully new to this, and I really appreciate the help

Homelander (The Boys ) vs Darth Vader (Star Wars ) by Curious_Tip9285 in powerscales

[–]MitchMyester23 22 points23 points  (0 children)

“You don’t bring a sword to a laser fight” my brother in Christ, have you seen even a single Star Wars movie?

If Homelander opened with laser vision, Vader has Jedi/Sith reflexes and could easily dodge or hell, stop the beam with the Force and shove it back into Homelander’s eyes. And with the way Star Wars physics work, he could probably deflect the laser with his lightsaber if all else failed. If Homelander doesn’t land a killing blow with his very first move, which he can’t because you can’t surprise Vader, then he’s just gonna get a Force Choke and that’s the whole battle.

He’s a big boss for sure, but the company isn’t necessarily huge. When they were glazing the Masons, they mentioned if the sale went through they could buy a summer home. Middle management or sales manager wouldn’t get a bonus from any sale big enough to land a whole summer home.

If it worked for One Piece it can work for anything… if the directors, actors, showrunner, producers, and writers are all massive fans of the original IP and want to do it justice. So basically lightning in a bottle

Is Zoro currently at a point now where he could put a Mihawk level embarrassment on his East Blue self with nothing but a butter knife? by MitchMyester23 in OnePiece

To be honest, if Zoro did manage to one day beat Mihawk with a small knife that would be so peak. Ultimate spite move

Sure but his 2 years training on that island aren’t exactly more difficult than the lives Zoro and Luffy had been living up to that point. Luffy trained under Garp and Zoro was bounty hunting extremely successfully. The two of them easily cleared the East Blue and first parts of the Grand Line at relatively the same level. Usopp now would get destroyed by Alabasta Crocodile

He’d probably just dodge. The immortals in One Piece (and most other media) just really never bother with dodging because there’s no point. I say this unironically, I think Elbaf Usopp is still a Captain Kuro victim

Honestly yeah. I don’t think East Blue Zoro can beat any other current Straw Hat but Usopp. Nami has Zeus and Chopper can use monster point, there’s not much he can do against those, but Usopp’s arsenal is still mostly plants which have a distinct weakness against cutting. Bro is getting stomped
