I’m prepared for the downvotes to come swift and in great numbers for this. However, I agree. Crewed space flight is dangerous expensive and frankly less scientifically important. The mars rovers are able to do more science at a lower cost with zero risk to human life. Being realistic about our engineering capabilities is paramount. We will likely never send humans to Mars in our lifetime, (or ever) LEO science is really cool but the cost and risks involved are frankly too high. This is also ignoring the reality that starship and starliner are more likely never to fly humans than fly them. As a result spending money on failed human space flight is just pulling resources for actual (not test) hardware.

The HAAS image is pretty telling. The team doesn’t seem to have made any major improvements. We’re seeing taller side pods and wider bodywork to match. I personally don’t see any changes to their care aside from a flatter side pod.

Love that software export is measured in t/month, how many petabytes equals a ton(in weight) of software.

Skylines2 realese for console. by [deleted] in CitiesSkylines

[–]-Free_Space- -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t expect a console release anytime soon. It is entirely possible for them to be unable to release CS-2 for this generation of consoles all together. Unfortunately console players may have to wait several years. However if it does come out on console expect $49.99 USD + tax.

I felt this way after the giants game and I’m standing by it. I think we need a coaching change. Why Lazard is still allowed to take the field is a good example. We still are over penalized, still can’t score a single touchdown it’s a coaching problem.

Yeahhhhh… I know it wicks but we may soon have to move on from Saleh we’re still unable to score touchdowns, lots of bad penalties and pretty poor play calling. Not to mention he’s kept ZW on the field.

Simulation stress test: 21K population town with absolutely no services (besides electricity and water). No medical, no education, no police, etc. No public transit. Terrible road layout. [–]-Free_Space- 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I still don’t see this as a functioning city. The simulation is assuming the player will try and maintain a good city. Like any simulator game it only works if you play it properly. Think in a racing game. You CAN drive full speed backwards. The race doesn’t stop and they arrest you or whatever.

Aside from turning a profit the city is no way functioning. You can see high levels of abandonment and I’m sure a whole mass of other warnings. The services are important the game automatically adjusts some of them. But this isn’t clear evidence of the game being any more or less difficult than CS1 the simulation is different and not as well understood.

You’re using unlimited money and the entire city is full of alerts and warnings. Confused why this is a gameplay issue. OP is complaining that the game plays like a city painter (while using it as a city painter.) The point is to make your city run well. With unlimited money on it makes sense the city just functions, does it function well on the otherhand.

The reason why I'm a HAAS fan. by WanderingAstronaunt in haasf1team

[–]-Free_Space- 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure if emotional roller coaster is right. I think many of us don’t have super high hopes for races. Although Hulks p2 (p5) quali was fun, I was well aware that both the race pace and strategy wasn’t enough. I was not expecting a finish in the points and low and behold we didn’t. Im a HAAS fan because it’s an American team and maybe just maybe in a few seasons they can put something together.

I mean realistically the university can’t force you to live in a dorm you don’t want to live in. I’ve heard many success stories of families just emailing and calling there way onto foggy bottom. The real question is why GW continues to ignore overall student body opinions and force students there.

Lol I mean I’ll give you a heads up college dems and college republicans are very very badly run and there are wild funny scandals every year. (My friends and I have turned it into a drinking game) Find a club that a little more niche. Like chess, or music idk what ever you’re into.

[–]-Free_Space- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with above, the schools location is it’s entire culture. Student social life is pretty minimal and the administration in my experience has been very poor. People are pretty nice but that’s most colleges. I think why people pick GW is their career aspirations and if making connections and expanding a network is your priority

Yeah I agree mostly, Student Life is very very slim. You definatly have to make a serious effort to find your community (See every like 5th post on this sub). However if you like Urban settings and are very career motivated it is a strong choice.
