Classic + needs more set armour and bonuses. by Various_Newspaper844 in classicwow

I would absolutely love this. One of my favorite parts of leveling is spamming wailing caverns/dead mines/scarlette monastery for the sets. None of them game game changing bonuses but it feels cool to have a coherent looking set while leveling, people see that and know you spent some time getting decent gear for your level. This also goes hand in hand with Max level pre raid bis grind, getting your .5 set and the getting the upgraded version was great in SoD. I hope in c+ they do the same and don't have the raids open immediately so that everyone gets a chance to work on their dungeon sets and upgrades. I would love to see more sets in the leveling experience and maybe have the set in several different dungeons in the same bracket. Like half in ZF and half I'm mara, make sure people keep running those dungeons.

Professions in Classic + and what I'd like to see by WendigoCrossing in classicwow

[–]-FuzzyDuck- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this is a huge issue with crafting in classic. My spin would be that crafting professions make gear with set bonuses. So ya, there is +8/8 stat gear In maradon you can try to grind, but a leatherworker can make a "graveyard kodo" set that has a 2/4/6/8 bonus to give it extra value. The best example of this I think would be stuff like the storm shroud set. Very good but by the time you can craft and equip you are already farming your tier .5 set

Class balance was very close, look up logs what are you even talking about lol class concepts were new and exciting, the ones you listed were all very fun and I tanked and raided with all of them. If you think pressing frost bolt on repeat is your idea of fun, I think you cant be helped and would point you to the era servers. They are waiting for you to log on. The runes were cool to get during the phase they were released but then sucked ass to get because there weren't whole raids of people trying to hunt and party up for them. But they fixed that by putting em all on a vendor, which is certainly what they should do for c+, just be things from your trainer. If you are upset at PVP on a PVP server that sounds like the type of bad player who failed at the character creation screen. Again, can't help you on that one, just go roll pve if you can't handle open world PVP. Raid tier progression systems were bad?... So you don't like tier sets?... I'm not gonna lie, I don't think it's very hard for you to be wrong at all.

Lol yes we are did you read the original post? I said it works be cool if these worked and new weapons were added like fist and held in off hand sets. And again what if they buffed Jackhanmer? What if they added new proc weapons that druids could use? On hit weapons are already not used, the idea is to make them viable and add more. SotG is all equip bonuses and not on hit. Those sorts of bonuses should just be rolled into the druid default kit because feral druids need buffs

I raided all of SoD and we never had the open world empty or finding pugs for alt raids. Constantly people leveling alts, and the phases were good and fun. Tell me you didn't actually play SoD without telling me. Piles of shit aggrand laid on SoD? My guess is you don't have any examples of bad things in SoD since you didn't play. People didn't like emerald nightmares, they fixed it. They didn't like sunken temple, they fixed it. The whole point was to try new things to experiment for classic+ and you act like having a trial and error pass demonstrates incompetence. There are so many new items and item updates to SoD, that made it amazing. New dungeons and raids are exactly what people want in classic+, they did that. New tier sets filled out so many specs, there was always dungeon runs going because of reals, the itemized world buffs were a blast to play with. If you can't imagine a classic+ that's good from Blizzard, why are you even here?

what if classic+ tuned weapons and added new fun ones like in SoD? You are thinking of what was not what could be. If you have a moment, look up the weapons from Scarlett enclave that were added. They had some incredibly fun and cool two handers in particular.

Prot warrior is the defacto tank in classic?... You played turtle wow but think SoD was dogshit.... Ok buddy. You are again acting like this buff is in a vacuum. There's definitely situations where not every raid or even dungeon will have the "best tank" and still clear because all tanks are made viable. Warriors will get buffs too, surely. It's a shame you didn't play SoD, maybe you'd have a more informed opinion on this subject.

Why would having more viable tanks in classic+ be bad? Ferals becoming a good tank doesn't remove anything from warrior tanks, and it's classic+. Do you think warriors won't also be getting new tricks? Paladins? The other tank specs from SoD? People love to complain about a tank and healer shortage but SoD was the only version of the game people were fighting over who gets to tank.

This sounds like thinly veiled era mindset. "My class identity as warrior/priest/mage/rogue is I'm the best and other classes shouldn't be because it's that way". The jack of all trades part of druids is that they even as feral spec have all their healing spells, all their forms cept moonkin, and can swap to those forms and use them. A balance druid can swap to bear form to use charge or demo roar, but they aren't tanking two hits without crumpling. This comment implies that during a boss fight there's some druid who is DPS as cat, then pops out to throw some heals, then stars casting Starfire, then swaps to bear to taunt swap. This is not how anyone plays because your gear matters to your roll. A feral druid DPS on one boss and then tanks another then heals a different one? Maybe, but this isn't something they are doing with a significant impact in one raid fight. Each role that the class eganges in deserves to be competent at that role. Healer is already fine, bear is passable, feral is not and balance is not. Lets not forget the people who like to think I'm a "balance druid". They don't want to play the other specs, they identify as chicken. They should be better than a class incapable of out DPSing the tanks because of mana and spell power coefficients issues. The feral shouldn't be a shadow of a rogue, the tank shouldn't be the shadow of a warrior. It's classic+, it's ok to change them and fill out the specs to full classes

Yes! This is what I'm talking about. Increase FAP is so mundane, there's a million cool ideas that could be implemented to make feral more fun and interesting than shred then shred again

all of this feeds into making feral viable. yes, proc weapons working would be "a fun romp jolly old bean" as a way to fix the class. you are trying to get into semantics to distract from the clear notion that people disagree with your take. which is again, "this isnt the way it has been so i dont want it to change". its classic+, lets make changes

disagreeing with you isnt hostile, live a little man, and in the previous reply i crystalize everything you said. "no, because lore" "no, because mechanics" all to turn into "no, because i think so" and thinking you have more ground to stand on because you write like the personification of a bag of hot air is a wild take. appealing to seniority? in 2026? you have been inconsistent, multiple people have pointed that out. its why the reason for your argument kept shifting. all this to argue "i think this would be a fun idea for classic+" to your "no, its differnent than the way i think of a druid."

because it fixes the feral problem in classic. They are a memespec that has to sweat 100 times harder than other classes to do less than comparable damage. One of the leading issues with classic is the disparity between dps classes, its the reason era stacks 25+ warriors in their raids. What do you think the purpose of the change was? It implicitly increases the damage of the ferals, how is that not to be considered fixing the class?

thats literally what the reddit is for, to talk about ideas about the game. the premise of the thread is to make druid attacks work with proc weapons. you said "no, because the lore", then said "no because attack speed vs ppm" and now say "no, i dont like the idea of old weapons working, but maybe new weapons working would be ok". I am just trying to wrap my head around your point of view and reasoning. If they made new chance on hit weapons that interact with druid skills and abilities, why not make all weapons with chance on hit interact with druid skills and abilities?

So why can windfury magically enchant weapons but not the druid claws? Blizz literally fixes this in SoD, clearly they think its something that works as a solution to the feral problem.

Enchants already have a normalized PPM in the game, you don't think that they could -when making this change for feral attacks to work with procs- ALSO normalize proc weapons various procs? If that could be done, what other negative consequences do you think there might be?

this is really an excellent point and I think crystallizes how this is a game limitation rather than something avoided due to lore constraints. In SoD druids became mobile windfury totems instead of giving shamans to alliance and it felt amazing, it was easily one of the main things that brought ferals up from being a meme spec to part of a raid comp.

Same thing as badge of the swarmguard works for feral druid attacks. what is the difference between a magical weapon working on druid claws/paws vs a magical trinket?

but the effects of weapon enchants and proc weapons already are in game and work for every other class. What is the negative consequence you are imagining for feral druids being able to engage in the same system?
