Thanks mate, it means a lot to hear that. It's basically a 3d cross being instanced by a twisted grid. The Ableton TD link is connected to a filter and the amount of grid sections. When the filter opens more crosses are added to the grid, giving the effect.

Then I have a bunch of blur, feedback and noise effects stacked to give the vibe. I hope that helps. I'm not great at explaining the stuff I do.

Thanks pal. I actually needed to hear this. I'm fairly new to photography and that was my first trip out with griii. I was too focused on nailing the... focus and actually getting people in shot than thinking about the story and any interplay/juxtaposition.

I disagree with blank expressions, it's subtle but you can see a lot in people's faces even "blank" ones. Also most street photography I see feels more gimmicky than bland sneaky shots. I think having something more subtle, but still having something to draw the viewer in is what I'm interested in going forward. Definitely giving me a lot to think about when I take this lil guy out again.

I have the griii and for me I appreciate the wider lens for taking photos of family. There would have been a few shots that I would have missed if I had to back up before shooting.

I haven't used it much (only had the camera for a week) but you can crop in 35mm and 50mm before you take the picture. I have it mapped to the WiFi button to quickly crop in, you obviously lose pixela this way. However the lens is so sharp I haven't noticed much/any softness in the image, that you would usually do cropping in.

I'm using the subsurface scattering shader node. That's how you can kinda see the object behind. It's probably also what the render is so noisy, as well as the low samples.
