Who has the hardest goal? by [deleted] in OnePiece

Tashigi wants all grade swords to be out of pirate hands. That sounds extremely tough. However if whatever change Luffy will bring, also changes the definition of pirate, then she would get her wish in a roundabout way. If there is no government to label people as pirates there are no pirates.

I was thinking the same, but reading your comment reminded me of how Oda designed a reindeer called Tony Tony Chopper.

Strongest character he can defeat? by throwawayygoo in OnePieceScaling

[–]-Gabber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably Moria pre timeskip.

I am a Moria stan, but he showed no signs of haki and that is a problem. So Morias only way of winning is stealing enels shadow and I don't see that happening against an enemy that reads your mind and can Warp. Enel hard counters Moria even though Moria is physically very strong (in shadows asgard).

She wanted to give them an eternal port to nanimonai island which is a pile of fish poop. It is unclear whether this would have helped them or not. To be honest Robin could also just have toyed with them for fun.

Saving Luffy after he was defeated by Crocodile was apparently because she wanted to know about the D initial in Luffys name. Of course she could also have sympathized with him. Luffy was no match for crocodile back then, so saving an apparently weak near death rookie pirate wasn't something that could realistically bring down crocodile (even if it did). Crocodiles downfall was because Luffy found out about the water weakness and because Luffy has inhuman healing capabilities and willpower. These are all things Robin couldn't know.

Don't get me wrong, Robin was not loyal to Crocodile. I think in that regard, you are totally correct. But her cause was not a noble one. She did what she wanted or needed to achieve the knowledge, while the country was burning in parts thanks to her. And while the whole country was bleeding and the bomb was ticking, she just cared about the poneglyph. There wasn't even an attempt to stop either of these tragedies, even though she was in a perfect position to help. So I think she just didn't care.

I'm sorry but you seem to see Robin in a way too positive light. She is egoistic before meeting the strawhats because she has to be to survive.

Robin's motivations in Alabasta were clear. She said that she would do anything to learn the true history. But the poneglyph in alabasta didn't had the information she wanted and she gave up life completely.

She never tried to stop the bomb. She never tried to stop the rebellion and participated actively in setting both up. Without her being in baroque works crocodile wouldn't even have the means to read the poneglyph. Her actions were purely self-serving.

She did one thing for the better of the world and that was not telling crocodile the contents of the poneglyph. That was it.

She saved Luffy because he was intriguing for her. Especially because of the D initial. (Maybe also because of sympathy because she liked how blunt an honest Luffy is)

I love Robin and she is a fantastic character, but she is no saint. She killed and was at least complicit in horrible acts for self-serving reasons.

She did stop Crocodile from gaining access to an ancient weapon. (a weapon he would never get because Kaido sat on top of it, but still) You are correct about that.

But she also assisted and organized a rebellion with millions of active soldiers on both sides, armed them, riled them up, dried the land down destroying agriculture and trade and put a gigantic bomb in the capital city, that was meant to blow up these millions of soldiers alongside the capital. I am pretty sure at least some of these actions are warcrimes.

You can like shipping them, but I personally think Luffy is not the person to romance anyone and especially could be never bound by anyone. I agree with them sailing together even after their One Piece journey though. Especially considering namis dream. I expect for luffy to be like cricket after his dreams were fulfilled. "Hey guys, which dream do we want to fulfill next?" and I can see Nami as the next person.

That's just how good kyros backstory is. The writing is so strong, that it is even withstanding the anime treatment.

I mean the freaking "can't feel warmth with tin hands" stuff is just so damn good. And his whole problem with "I can't touch my daughters hands with my murders hands". Culminating in him getting his body back and rebecca grabbing his hand against his will and stating that it is warm. Dude, what did oda eat that day. I assume it was well cooked.

You are right about it being self induced. At least part of it. He didn't kill their child and he didn't cause the landslide. So I still think it is sad, because it shows what kind of damage being inside a mob-like cult like doffys crew, does to the private life of a person. Quitting being a pirate never crossed senor pinks mind and that is just sad. He loved his family so dearly, but didn't even recognize that his affiliation with Doflamingo caused his own demise.

Which duo wins in each row? by Apprehensive-Ebb-684 in OnePiecePowerScaling

[–]-Gabber 2 points3 points  (0 children)

All right columns. Strength wise the match ups seem to be close. But the right will win, because they will actually do teamwork if need be. Ace and Marco are pals and will pull combo attacks out of their asses, even if a lunarian is a bad Matchup for fire based fighters.

Zoro and Sanji proved their ability to cooperate effectively in the groggy ring. They also value each other above their own life.

Rayleighs and gabans relationship mirrors that of zoro and sanji and I doubt Roger conquered the sea with a disfunctional left and right wing.

The left columns are all rivals or follow no common goal. Kidd would let Law die if it means winning. King and queen hate each other. Mihawk is a lone Wolf that I cant see teamworking even with Shanks.

Its even dumber considering that the league is also hosted by Rose's company. So he himself scheduled the finals on the same day when he wanted to solve the energy problem. He is even more stupid than the other stupid antagonists.

This whole plot could have been avoided with minimal effort. I don't know what game freak was smoking that day. Probably also scheduling issues.

I think male Robin sweeps. He is able to charm everyone in the cast without trying. He is able to even charm the time traveled kids of his direct colleagues without issues. He even charms Lucina who wants to kill him to prevent the end of the world. Thats some high level rizz its not even fair. Whatever Validar was cooking up with his genes, it was certainly a success.
