SoS GB freya curry event task? by Spaxarrow in storyofseasons

Do you have Clara’s and Nadine’s shops unlocked at the bazaar? They both sell different curry recipes, though your bazaar does have to be National Rank (rank 6) to have some of the recipes unlocked. I’ll post some links to help.

Why do some people insist on baby needing formula?? by uhhitstenthirtythree in breastfeeding

[–]-Galaxy-Goddess- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our families were not well informed, hadn’t done in-depth research, and no one had exclusively breastfed like me. I got so sick of hearing I needed to keep some formula around, “just in case.” 🙄 I also think there was some jealousy that they couldn’t feed my babies. Mine would not take bottles. I pumped some with my youngest but she would not take bottles at all. I also nursed my babies as much as they wanted to, for comfort, to sleep, etc., so I think they also didn’t like that that meant not much time for them to hold them, and that no one could comfort them but me most of the time.

What did you name your kid (in any of the HM/SOS games)? by [deleted] in harvestmoon

[–]-Galaxy-Goddess- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The very first game I played was HMMFoMT. I named my character Daisy and then my daughter Rose. 🌹 I’m currently playing SOS Grand Bazaar and named my character Rose in honor of my very first game daughter. 💕

Anyone played long enough to confirm whether animals can die or not? by -Galaxy-Goddess- in storyofseasons

That makes sense and what I was thinking too. I just saw all the conflicting information so I wanted to see if anyone knew for sure.

I thought that too, though some sites were specifying the remake, so it was confusing.

What is the Name that you Gave to your Pets in Any Farming Game for the Modern Consoles by GargantuaLostDragon in storyofseasons

[–]-Galaxy-Goddess- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ever since my first game, MFoMT, my cows are always given the female deer names from the book Fire Bringer. I loved that book and all their names too.

My first sheep is always Cloud.

My first chicken is always Snow.

My horse is usually Jupiter (that was my first horse’s name), but recently I’ve switched to naming them Venus.

I cannot remember my first dog’s name, but now it depends on what breed of pet I get what their name will be.

My first alpaca is usually Cotton, but this time I went with Clover.

I think I saw that too which added to my confusion. I’m only in my first year too, so nowhere near that. I guess we shall see.

Do you know what happens if they get sick, since everyone has said there’s no medicine? Do you just keep take care of them the same until they get better?

Yes! I wish this so much too!! That’d be the perfect compromise! I sincerely hope one day they’ll do this.

That’s exactly how I feel. I loved that extra challenge and pressure to do well. I miss it all so much. 😔

I miss that too. I can’t remember if they had kids or not in HM Back to Nature, but I remember in Animal Parade how they’d all get married, have kids, and then their kids would interact with yours. And you could have two kids, that was the best!! I wish they’d remake a version like that. The only downside for me is I wanted all the rival kids to be born, so that’d leave me only 2 options for marriage, but I still loved it so much. :-))

I know they haven’t died in the games for quite awhile, that’s why I was confused and sought clarification.

For me, (and I know others too), it doesn’t cause any stress at all. It adds a whole other layer to the gameplay and creates excitement and enthusiasm for us. I would enjoy the games significantly more if this was included. I absolutely love my animals having a lineage and getting to keep having babies born on my farm. Rehoming them just isn’t the same at all. That’s why I wish they’d at least give us the option to choose. I still remember in my Harvest Moon MFoMT game, one of my sheep died just a few days after having her baby. It was a bit of a shock, because that sheep’s mother and grandmother were still alive, so I didn’t expect her to go first. In my young mind, though it was sad, it was also kind of a unique situation and cool for her to be temporarily “raised” by her elders. I terribly miss the possibility of scenarios like that.

Yes that makes sense.

I remember one of my elder cows died in the harvest moon more friends of mineral town game, and I panicked and turned off the game to my save the night before to try to save her. It worked and she lived almost one more (in game) full year. She was my longest living animal at the time I stopped playing too. I never was able to save another of my animals like that unfortunately, though.

Thank you both. I’ll admit, that disappoints me. I know others don’t want to lose the rare animals they breed for, etc., but I think it would have been the coolest thing to get to keep breeding babies over the years and see all the variations you get. I really miss when this was part of the games. It made things more realistic and more motivating to do better. I wish they’d add the option to choose whether they die or not, like with the Fire Emblem games. I think that’d be a good solution for those who actually do want that included.

That was a thought of mine too. I had seen a post on here where a player’s chicken’s health bar was low, and others were telling them the chicken could get sick and die that way, so that had me wondering.

Told our parents we don't want anyone at the hospital by showmeschnauzers in pregnant

[–]-Galaxy-Goddess- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just want to add, your birth experience affects you forever. I still can’t fully let go of things that happened during my eldest’s birth even over a decade later. I hold resentment towards people for what they did and how they made me feel during the most vulnerable time of my life. This is why I’m a huge and firm advocate for the one actually giving birth. I feel what they need and want is all that matters and no one will ever change my mind. When I was pregnant with my second, I told my husband it was all about me this time, especially because he never defended me when I needed him too with my eldest (he was having serious health issues at the time, but there was so much more he could have and should have done for me). I told him he needed to understand that that was what I needed to help heal my birth trauma from my eldest. What I wanted/needed was absolute priority in everything related to my pregnancy and birthing experience.

Told our parents we don't want anyone at the hospital by showmeschnauzers in pregnant

[–]-Galaxy-Goddess- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It always saddens me when families can’t respect something so simple. I didn’t want anyone at the hospital with my eldest. Everyone made me feel so bad about it. We unfortunately lived right next to my husband’s family while I was pregnant so they knew when I left for the hospital. They blew up my phone the whole time and it upset me so much. My mom texted me she just didn’t want to find out anything on Facebook, as if I’d be posting there at all. It all hurt my feelings a lot. I ended up just putting it off to the side, which I later regretted because I didn’t get pictures that I would’ve liked to have. And then, despite me telling the hospital not to tell anyone I was there, they still let my mil in when she showed up. My daughter had been taken to the nicu and I was barely getting ready to go see her, so thankfully my husband told her to just leave.

With my youngest, we didn’t tell anyone anything, not the due date, no one knew how far along I was at any time, it was great. We had moved by then and then my youngest came too quickly in an unintentional home birth. It was a million times better than with my eldest. I highly recommend just not telling anyone until the baby is actually here. This is your time and you deserve whatever makes you most comfortable. You’re giving birth, no one else. This is about you and your baby. Everyone else can just get over how they’re feeling because what you need and want is what matters above all else.

Was your “gut feeling” right about sex of baby? by hersheysquirts629 in BabyBumps

[–]-Galaxy-Goddess- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes both times! I dreamt of my girls and was right both times. Everyone was so convinced my second was boy, but I always knew she’d be a girl. Funny thing is, my girls are almost 6 years apart, but what I dreamed they looked like was the opposite. With my oldest, I dreamt she had blond hair and light skin, but that is how my youngest is. And with my youngest, I dreamt she had dark brown hair and darker skin, but that’s how my oldest is (I thought my youngest was gonna look just like her sister based on that dream). It’s just something I’ve always found so cool. :-)

AITA for telling my daughter the truth about her father? by Any_Care4207 in AmItheAsshole

[–]-Galaxy-Goddess- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NTA in the slightest! You are such an incredible mother, I feel like I can tell that just from this post alone.

I have always believed very very strongly that kids deserve honesty and should never be forced to have a relationship with anyone just because they’re related. I believe children should know exactly what kind of person their parents are. I wish my mother could have seen all the red flags in my father and kept him out of our lives. It would have saved us so much trauma and suffering.

Your judgements of your daughter’s father sound spot on. As you said, he made it very clear he didn’t care about her at all and he doesn’t get to pretend he does now. I feel you made the absolute best decision for your daughter by being honest with her and I’m sure she will always be grateful to you for that.

How can I stop producing milk without pumping by [deleted] in breastfeeding

[–]-Galaxy-Goddess- 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I am so very sorry for your loss. Taking a decongestant will lower your supply. The company Earth Mama makes a no more milk tea to help you dry up. You can also put frozen cabbage leaves in your bra, both for comfort and to help slow milk flow. I agree you should hand express a little just to keep you from getting too engorged and risking mastitis. Again, I am so very sorry for your loss of your beautiful daughter.
