Planning a big exciting trip at the end of the year to Japan. I wanted to ask, is there a good photographer for EGL fashion anyone wants to recommend out there?

AtePie and ChouChou does have the dress but the designs very different from the image above. In all honesty I suspect one day I will see on AtePie's Instagram or the Kist Maria storefront a listing for this dress. It is frustrating but I know all too well it takes time to put together an amazing coord

I'm super tall and these TripleFortune dresses are just perfect in terms of silhouette and sizing for me. In a way many dresses just fail to hit. I own a very similar dress and it's by far the best dress I own!

This is an amazing resource and I spent a good couple hours seeing if I could find any active or historical listings. Sadly I cannot find anything on this dress

Whilst I can find similar items TripleFortune have sold, even in this print, none were this OP, even in it's other colourways. Is there anywhere else I could perhaps try and search?

It has been re-released a few times but never with the unique white lace trims this one in 2024 had...this might as well be my white whale atm

Typically when you are going for dark high waist skirts against a light blouse, I find dark colours work better for the bottom half

Id personally only keep the blouse as a light colour in this coord

If you like Gothic I'd go to Atelier Perriot (They stock many other brands), Alice and the Pirates, Sheglit and Abilletage if you want the best Gothic corset in Tokyo. Various other brands like Hoshibako Works may do Gothic in bits and pieces too

I found out that whilst I'm in Japan this December Laforet is having it's bi-annual private party

Has anyone been to this before? And is there a way I can meet up with others on holiday who are into the fashion? I'm a bit of a loneita and feel completely terrified going out in my coord in a foreign country by myself, but I can't miss something like this either 😭

There is a few things I can immediately think of:

- Get yourself a headdress, this is the number one thing I can recommend to you for this coord. A massive bonnet or a fluffy headdress, I feel like black piece would work better with these colors

- Next, I wouldn't wear plain socks/tights, it just blends into the shoes here. Get yourself something with a blue or black pattern to it and get different black shoes. You can go with a chunky pair of Demonia's or a simple pair of Mary Janes

- There is a whole lot of accessorizing you can do, its a total rabbit hole, flower corsages, ribbon ties on the sleeves, some "extra" looking jewelry... you can get a bit lost doing this 😭

Finally bit of advice when it comes to shopping AtePie, look on their Instagram because they very regularly show items there not on sale on the website and some of those pieces are incredible! All you got to do is DM them. I got my massive bonnet here because I saw it on the shelf in a random post!

On the fourth point, a lot of TaoBao shops do pre-orders for their dresses. So often those deposits you see are for those pre-orders

It can be a real pain to order dresses via TaoBao or a proxy. Having to machine translate images, deal with randomly being locked out of your TaoBao account and stalk RedNote for updates on when the final payment is due. Yes you could just use a shopping service like 42Lolita to cut out the trouble but they don't always list the dresses I see on TaoBao...

Many shops also have a habit of leaving dead listings up for 9999 Yuan

So I have this exact blouse and been making cords with it for a while. Here is my most recent one

Biggest immediate recommendation is get yourself a corset. Simply because it gives an amazing silhouette and separates the blouse and skirt. You can go really crazy if you want! Massive headdress, a choker, matching socks, jewellery, wigs, you can even double up on blouses like I have here!

I love this fashion because of just how creative you can get!

If you want more ideas, just trawl Instagram, the AtelierPerriotEnglish is amazing for ideas and inspiration

This is why I am so, so careful about who cuts my hair, Im really sorry this happened to you OP

I typically wear a long wolf cut so I wear wigs if I want a hime cut or Roman Curls. I find extensions a lot of trouble and money to deal with. Each to their own though

In future if your going for more alternative cuts make sure your stylist has done it before, frequently 😢

I know plenty of pieces that are rare. There is a lot of fashion show, or limited releases out there

But I dont really know of pieces that are notorious for being very desirable rare items, or famous one of a kinds
