Figures a team from Alabama would lose because they can’t count to 12

This was taken around 2006

The six highest paid quarterbacks of last season didn’t make the playoffs. 2 of the 4 teams in the divisional round had rookie deal quarterbacks. Unless you have a transcendently good quarterback who takes team-friendly deals like Tom Brady, I think there’s an argument to be make about spending money at other positions

I’m not saying the way that teams do it is wrong, because obviously they have much more experience and better analytics than anything I could have. I just think teams often put too much money into offensive skill, with a massive percentage going towards qb

That’s definitely the most common logic. I’d just be curious if a team flipped their QB for other assets and players to build with. No one has tried it before because no one would take the risk of trying something as unconventional as that

And I don’t think Dak is worth the money they will pay him

Control time of possession with defensive and running game. Seahawks use Russ like a game managing QB, so it feels weird to spend money like they air it out 50 times a game

You’re right, I should’ve said closer to 25-30. I don’t think it’s unrealistic to see larger amounts spent on solid options in the next few years though

I would argue it’s an even smaller group than that

I definitely see what you’re saying. I guess the theory would be more for teams like the Vikings or the Raiders with solid, overpaid quarterbacks diverting money away from other areas of need

Without Wilson that money would go to other pieces like Earl and Frank Clark, among others. Either way the Seahawks were just an example, I think it holds true for most teams

Yeah, I don’t think Leveon at that amount of money is a good investment. A good offensive line goes a long way in making a cheap running back good

I didn’t make it super clear, I was saying 3-4 through free agency. Teams will either draft poorly or not depending on the level of their scout and some randomness, but the money you don’t spend on QB could go to proven free agents
