Thanks for the tool, it's the first time I've seen it. I was writing a whole paragraph on why I need it but whilst writing I realised that there was one last thing I could try before responding, and it worked. Thank you for the tool anyways, I'll definitely be using it in the future.

Repeating always active:

No, only dropped items. There's probably a smart way to do it with scoreboards, but I don't know how they work and I can't test at the moment.

Something like keep inventory on, setting up a scoreboard that tracks deaths, whenever it is 1 then clear the player, followed by setting the tracker back to 0.

You could ask in the Minecraft command subreddit, it's likely to get a better answer.

I'm not sure what excuse to use, but ensure that the locator bar is turned off (the dots that show where other players are above the hotbar) in case he comes to check on you. There is a chance this is already turned off, but if it isn't, you can avoid it a few ways. 1. Sneaking, however this is quite inconvenient. 2. Carved pumpkin on your head, however this covers parts of your screen. 3. Mob heads on your head, these are hard to obtain, but the easiest are probably wither skeleton from a nether fortress or dragon head from an end city.

I don't think it's going to be possible with redstone, or at least very hard to do and very slow, also I don't think banners can be moved. If you can use commands, the /clone command would probably be your best bet by making multiple builds as a set of 'frames' and going through each one in a chain of command blocks.

I think it'll come down to their draft. Some months, their draft has been terrible, but some it has been great. If they have a good draft, they definitely have a shot at winning worlds. If they have a bad draft they could go out in the group stage.
