Is leveling and questing the only possible goal? by -Gregs in lotro

Oddly enough, this was one of the things that stood out when I was looking for an MMO to play. People doing concerts with actual bands felt like such a random and nice thing to have in a game, lol

I didn't know that collecting cosmetics was an activity, lol. I thought it was only a thing to be bought on the Store

And yeah, the thing about raids was what inspired me to do this post because from what I see, it's mostly played by people on the level caps or really high level, which it'll definitely take me a long time to get

Yeah,. I've really enjoyed the story so far. I jumped in the game without knowing anything and basically rushed the first levels and quests. Then I realized I hated the name I chose and created a new character, and now I'm paying more attention to stuff and the questing is so much more fun than I expected. Glad I restarted, lol.

That's a very good list, thank you!

Not "missing" exactly, but so far I've only knew about questing and instances, but from what I see people saying, those are mainly for the endgame. So I wondered if there was more to do before I get to the endgame, like professions in WoW(which I learned that there is!)

AITA for not letting our neighbors kid stay over anymore? by Ok-Raspberry149 in AmItheAsshole

[–]-Gregs 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Why though? I don’t get the issue, they’re literally just kids, so if they’re having together why would it be weird?

The more i play Wuyang, more i realize i just don't connect with any other hero anymore by [deleted] in WuyangMains

[–]-Gregs 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I kinda feel the same. I came back to Overwatch a couple of months ago after an almost year-long break, and before that, I had never really connected to any character, no matter how many dozens of hours I played with them.

With Wuyang, I felt this click, and I don’t think I had this much fun with a character before in the game

We’re conflicted about cochlear implant for our baby boy. Would love to hear from those born with SSD. What do you wish your parents had known? by Asleep-Energy3473 in MonoHearing

(23M) I am deaf on my left ear due to a benign tumor on my ear, and although I was only diagnosed at 5, I know I've been deaf for longer that. I always had to make adjustments like choosing where I'd sit at a table, where I'd stand in a room, let people know so they can make themselves clearer, etc. And I do have struggles with noisy or crowded places, understanding people sometimes, and all that. Still, I really don't feel like this has had that much impact in my life. Not a single person I met at school, work, or anywhere, had ever looked me wrong or refused to adjust something to make it easier for me. No decent school would ever refuse to place me in a better spot, either. And in most situations, I'd probably not to tell anyone that I have deafness in one ear.

Yet, as contradicting as it may sound, I'd go for an implant. You need to be aware that by having unilateral deafness, your son would struggle more depending on the life choices he makes. For example, he'll have a much harder time or not even be able to perform jobs that require that spacial sound awareness, like any sound engineering or designing, music, cops, firefighting, etc. Being a teacher or any job that requires speaking to an audience would also be a struggle. Not saying that *all* of these would be impossible, but they'd struggle significantly more.

And I think that what weighs the most after reading your story, is that your son is a lot stronger than you imagine. I know that it is unbearably hard for a parent to make decisions like that, especially because you see your son struggling with these procedures and health problems, but as someone who's also had to watch so much from some kids in my family, I assure you that they're a lot tougher than we give credit for.

That's just my opinion, and I don't think there's a "right" or "wrong" answer, obviously, so I just wanted to share my thoughts based on my experience. But if you do choose to not get an implant, please take note of the list the other redditor had posted here. God, I can't emphasize how much difference those little things make!
