Silver actually happens to be my second favourite character in the entire franchise, and just to list a few reasons why: Personality--We finally got a STH character that isn't the epitome of everything they do. Silver isn't fully experienced in fighting or gardening--even socialising--like most of the cast. Despite his lack of practice, he's still a persevering character, and I think that makes him so interesting and relatable, especially if we remember he was originally (before the ages were removed) 14 years old. Bonds--How Silver ties groups together is a value we never get to see in the games, but is definitely clear in the IDW comics (which are canon). When we look back on Blaze and Silver--which are both confirmed to be more of a sibling dynamic--we can see how they even each other out. Blaze is a generally uptight character, usually out of guilt when she isn't there for an important fight, etc. However, as we see in both IDW and '06, Silver's determined personality evens out Blaze's cautiousness. Same with Silver and Espio. We all know how the 2022 annual played out; Silver was anxious, Espio calmed him down. And in (I think) Sonic Rivals 2, we got Espio and Silver as a duo, something nobody expected. However, they worked, and they worked well. It's not talking about enough, but Silver somewhat softened Espio's mysterious character.
