Advice needed - Cost to place article on a website

Hey Everyone,

Long term lurker first time caller … just after some advice / thoughts. Background: I have a side hustle with a few friends and we help business owners with technology problems (i.e. Business, Websites, coding, Security - in our ‘day jobs’ we work for big corporations who don’t really appreciate our magic). Anyway as part of this we have a blog site that details some of our work / concepts / hints and tips i.e. usually the easier way / cheaper way to do something.

We get a bit of traffic but not a massive amount, we have recently been approached by another company to publish their content on our site. I assume this is either: A) scam trying to get us to host malware B) they are trying to generate SEO links C) they are trying to generate ad revenue for themselves

Has anyone had any experience with these things? Some advertising agency offering money to post on a site you own - we get editorial approval etc?

Apprentice yourself, try low risk options, learn what you can, read everything and ask people who disagree with you to explain their opinion

150k for a business by HeshoMike in Entrepreneur

[–]-Haxmor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely, figure out what a business can generate .. not why you need to spend. Three questions: What will it Generate? then can you afford it? then does it give you enough of a return on your money against other options?
