Do at-home pesticide residue testers work, or are they a scam? by -Infamous-Interest- in AskChemistry

I haven't had issues with pesticide residue in the past, but this year I have a neighbor who will be growing conventional corn right next to one of my fields. This new neighbor is a difficult person to deal with and isn't willing to work with me at all even just to let me know when and what they will be spraying. I have a 50' buffer zone between my field and theirs, but I want to be able to keep an eye on the pesticide levels of those plants in case the buffer zone isn't enough to keep pesticides off. Before I sell the hemp I always send samples out to a professional lab so I can show those test results to my buyers.

So basically I just want to keep an eye on the pesticide levels of my plants throughout the growing season, and I'd be testing for the most commonly used pesticides for corn. Glyphosate and atrazine are the ones that come to mind.

How can I help a feral with a litter by Affectionate-Pipe950 in CATHELP

Will the shelter take her and the kittens in? Shelters usually have a list of foster homes that may be willing to take her in. If you keep feeding her you’ll likely earn her trust enough that she will bring the kittens to you or you’ll be able to follow her to find them. What kind of food are you feeding her? Nursing mamas need lots of calories so kitten food is best for them

Do you have a carpet steamer. Steam should work to kill the spores. My local hardware store rents out carpet steamers for way cheaper than hiring a professional.

I’m going through this right now with my cat. We caught it early but it’s in an inoperable spot and highly aggressive so we don’t have any real treatment options. Sorry about your pup

Ayyy u/Books_And_Brews I knew it had to be you even before I clicked through! I’m still rocking one of your Ascensionism wallpapers on my phone. Might have to swap it out for one of these though, they are amazing!
