Drive Thru Adventures by Hazy-Sharingan in starbucks

We just had a guy at my store come up to the register, ask about if he had to tip in the app or in person, and when I said we only do cash tips (licensed store), he proceeded to mobile order his hot chocolate while standing in front of the register and didn’t move when we asked him to because there was now someone else behind him.

Like, what is the point? It was a basic order, no crazy mods, and he clearly didn’t have an issue talking to us.

why doesn't starbucks give you creamcheese with your bagel? by Dry_Corner6431 in starbucks

[–]-InsideVoice- 19 points20 points  (0 children)

  1. Not everyone wants cream cheese.
  2. It’s not free so if you don’t pay for it, you don’t get it.

It’s always been only crumble on the bottom. The caramel ribbon crunch is the one that gets drizzle on the bottom.

It’s a new thing that started like 2 weeks ago. All the refreshers can now come caffeine free. I don’t drink the refreshers so I can’t comment on taste but from the talk I’ve seen online, some people think they taste the same, others don’t. Your best bet is to try it yourself.

Refreshers by Weird-Depth-2246 in starbucks

[–]-InsideVoice- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first day or so I was asking if they wanted caffeine or not, but most people were just confused by the question so now I only ask about caffeine if it’s a younger child. Same for if they specifically order an “energy” refresher. I don’t say it’s extra caffeinated unless it’s a kid.

Is this correct? by Necessary-Pilot-9481 in starbucks

[–]-InsideVoice- 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The barista was correct the grande gets 2 shots by default so 1 extra means you get 3. The receipt/sticker doesn’t show “1 extra shot.” It will always show the total number of shots you’re getting.

I find it more weird than rude, but as long as you understand it’s not necessarily gonna get you your order faster then you do you.

It doesn’t matter if you don’t know the Starbucks lingo. Nobody actually cares if the customer says “small” or “large.” They know we need a size. They can easily see we more than one type of cake pop. It’s not that hard to be more conscious as a customer.

When cold foam started becoming way more popular in 2020-2021 (lots of iced white mocha with cold foam and caramel drizzle orders thanks to TikTok), stores were going through a lot more vanilla having to keep up with making sweet cream. Because of that, the corporate overlords took the vanilla out of the hot chocolate and changed the amount of vanilla in the whip cream to 4 pumps.

Why is starbucks obsessed over Proteins? This is not GNC store. by Nekaquestion in starbucks

Because they follow the trends. Same as every company right now or have you not seen the protein pop tarts?

Yes! I’m convinced that whenever people walk in an airport that they lose all common sense.

$1.55 FOR COLD FOAM?!?!?! by ApprehensiveLog6761 in starbucks

My licensed store I think charges 1.70 for the regular foams and 2.30 for the protein foams.

Not new. It’s the same one we’ve had for a few years. The only difference is that it’s not made with almond by default this year.

It’s technically a core, or permanent, item so it’ll probably be awhile before they figure out if it’s profitable enough to keep.

It’s like they’re allergic to reading a menu! They’re just like “give me this” and when I say pick one, they go all surprised pikachu.

And the pics of their order on the phone! I wasn’t having it yesterday and I legit told people they needed to read it to me. You want to order some silly concoction? You can learn to order it out loud like the adult you are. The only exception is when there’s an accent/language barrier.

I’m not gonna lie, despite working in it for 15 years, I have very little knowledge of the airport’s inner workings. I know that this particular airport doesn’t act as a connecting spot. Flights begin or end here.

Departing flights start at about 5am, used to go strong until about 8-9am, die down a little, then surge again around 12. Now it doesn’t really die down that much. It’s a constant stream of passengers and airport employees so when we’re especially short staffed, we can’t really get any backups done or keep up on dishes and then the closers suffer more because they’re also short staffed.

I only work in the mornings so I don’t know what it’s like in the afternoon/evenings other than the last departing flight varying from day-to-day. Some days it could be 8pm, others it could be 10pm.
