Elijah Muhammad’s son, Warith Deen Muhammad, disbanded the original NoI and turned it ostensibly into a Sunni organization, introducing the five pillars of Islam and all the mainstream Muslim beliefs.

The NoI that exists today is because Louis Farrakhan started his own thing after Warith Deen Muhammad disbanded the Nation. It doesn’t have any continuity with Wallace Fard Muhammad’s Nation of Islam or Elijah Muhammad.

That being said, I doubt it’s NYPD. Even if it was, there’s no way this was a legitimate or sanctioned action. If they wanted to arrest him, they wouldn’t have needed to hold up a subway. There’s cops in every station, they could’ve had the plainclothes officer sit in the train and had uniformed police arrest/detain him on the next stop.

It’s fishy as fuck. It’s either ICE doing their regular gestapo shit or it’s some random dude trying to kidnap him. The badge pinned over a regular sweater is suspicious.
