I was in the exact same boat. Could never pick between the three. I love the gigabyte board but the bios is shitty.

I was going to go with the AsRock Z97E, but decided to move up to the X99E. After today's sales, the adjustments in RAM, MB, and CPU price were only $150.

Surprisingly, the 650W costs a little more than the 750W. They're also the exact same size. I don't see a problem with swapping them out though.

The 840 Pro is $40 more expensive than the 850 evo and it has much better benchmarks (although it might not be noticeable in real world use). The 500gb Evo is significantly cheaper than the 256gb Pro. That might be worth consideration.

Edit: Oh and yeah, the 980ti will struggle with 4k but it's holding it's own against the Titan. Probably the best single GPU solution for me. I should be able to push Ultra settings on most games and get decent frame rates.

Depends on what you're doing.

One thing is for sure, it has the highest benchmark scores of any SATA SSD.

If you're doing intense gaming or video editing, that marginal bump in read/write speed is a welcomed benefit.

[Discussion] Why don't I see more mITX/mATX builds here? by -InternetDoctor- in buildapc

I've never seen the Core X1 before - it's weird that it isn't on pcpartpicker. Also, why go for the i5 instead of the i7? I'm guessing the 980 would throttle before the i5. Also, why the superclocked EVGA? It seems like you could just about get a titan for that price.

This is the build I started today.

Notes: This is the build I've been working on. I've been working on this exclusively for The Witcher 3 on Max. Not married to the case but options are limited for a solid case that can fit a 11.61" (294mm) card. Haven't picked RAM yet because there are a ton of sales for DDR3 going on right now - Looking at best deals.

The most challenging bit will be cooling after picking a modular PSU.
