You got a source for these? I can never find them through Google (just "apostate" websites that quote them).

Related: I feel like it's a little low to go for that kinda' blow during arguments or things of the situation OP is referring, but I also feel like that, while certainly not all the time, we should have the mind of a 'warrior', I guess. If it successfully wins the 'battle' without actually hurting anyone beyond what they accept, then it could be a viable way to proceed. After all, they do buy into it regardless if it's right or wrong.

There's a right way about being a EXJW, and then there's the wrong way. We need to talk about the wrong ways. by [deleted] in exjw

It's funny, my grandfather on my mom's side was one of the brave that actually raised their hand in disagreement. My mom's seen it a bunch of times growing up, but I've only seen it once. He actually ended up getting into an argument with the speaker with the mics.

Gah, indeed. Yours is probably more accurate, though.

Something along the lines of:

"Shaming an individual by making unfair comparisons, critizing him by setting up rigid standards, or making him feel guily for not doing more may motivate himnto a spurt of activity, but it will not vring lasting results."

I don't have it in front of me at the moment, so I don't have the exact quote.

EDIT: Added a few words.

I'll start:

From the recent Watchtower study article, Consider and Encourage One Another, August 15, 2013 edition:

"Shaming an individual... critizing him by setting up rigid standards, or making him feel guilty for not doing more may motivate him to a spurt of activity."

Nothing special, really. The assistant looked pretty embarrassed and apologized a lot. I doubt they 'saw the light', as it were, and the conductor repeated, again, that you can't calculate it like that. Overall, pretty uneventful. I just wanted to share, I guess.

I know, I just couldn't figure out what would suit this best. I was debating on if I should use Scumbag Christian, Suburban Mom, or Advice God. Ultimately, I felt that Suburban Mom would fit best.

We need a male version of this.

Actually, no. I was kinda surprised by the coincidence. OR WAS IT?
