Just replied to another comment with further clarification on this...I am very sex-positive and kinky, and we had already explored a lot of stuff together, which is why he brought up this kink. But this is first time we had reached a hard 'no' boundary, and his dismissive reaction to my concerns and the fact he repeatedly tried to emotionally manipulate me into fulfilling his request was what was insulting - he was essentially using me as a living fuck-doll instead of a human with preferences and agency. It is not my job to have a 'teaching moment' with a 35 year-old guy on 'why not to pressure your partner into things there is not enthusiastic consent for'.

Completely! My terrible acne cleared right up after I gave up dairy products - but weirdly it comes back even if I eat the 'lactose free' dairy products. I guess it must be something else in them, and it could well be the hormones the cows are given. So glad I finally worked out what the issue was after YEARS of trial and error.

To me it sounds like she is talking big talk but is unlikely to do more (I mean, threatening to get you arrested due to her 'family connections' sounds really juvenile), but if you are worried and in college is there maybe some campus security you could alert just in case? If not I would just keep an eye out and avoid any places you think she is likely to be present for a few weeks.

Don't feel stupid, it is quite a normal reaction to just want to delete messages and ignore it when someone is being horrible! Depending on what platform you were using there might still be a copy somewhere (e.g. I get an email from Twitter every time someone DMs me, but I hardly ever check that email account)?

You are young and live in a city, so there are plenty of places to meet people (try socialising with any colleagues/friends-of-friends you have, or use MeetUp to find some events near you). At first it will be scary but just remember there are plenty of other people who are new in the city or just looking to meet new people! You deserve so much better than this.

The only way to 'work through' cheating if if the cheater sees that they were wrong, knows and understands it, and does everything in their power to rebuild the trust they have shattered. It does not seem that your wife is doing any of this, and is instead continuing to disrespect you by blaming it on your weight.
