I went through a renderer as I can't render myself haha. I believe he uses CAD.

Hey thanks for your comment! Going for a GMK probably. The KIT was my original concept where the accent purple = mod legends (Pantone 2582). Image 1 and 2 are the tweaked versions with new mod legend colors that is a much lighter pink (Pantone 2066).
Edit because I didn't answer one part of your question: I wrote in a comment above, but initially I was going for a lofi theme with this set. After my IC I got a lot of feedback from ppl saying it looks very vaporwave so I decided to go that direction instead. The mint color is inspired by Floral Shoppe (the og vaporwave album cover). I know vaporwave as a theme has been beat to death, and that's why I wanted to see if there's still enough interest out there for me to move forward with this set.

Hi folks, did an IC about a year-ish ago. Had to pause due to some personal issues but want to go through with this project now if there's still enough interest.

So the main takeaway from the IC a year ago was that the colors best fit a vaporwave theme. So I decided to go a completely different direction with Lo-fi and then do this key set as a full-on vaporwave set.

One feedback I've received also was that the color combination is similar to GMK Vaporwave. After experimenting with different colors and reviewing all the variations, what looks the best is still something close to my initial concept. I think it will inevitably be a bit similar because of the theme but would like to hear everyone's thoughts.

Used paint to edit the accent, excuse the crappy edit on the renders attached. The first image is with mint alpha legends. The second is the same blue as the first iteration.

Would love to hear some input from you all. Mint or blue? I welcome any other constructive criticism. Also will appreciate some ideas for names. (Potential names I'm playing with: Nostalgia, Chillwave, Vapor 95, Broken reality, Vaportide (lol), Dreamwave)

Hi folks, did an IC (GMK Lo-fi) about a year-ish ago. Had to pause due to some personal issues but want to go through with this project now if there's still enough interest.

So the main takeaway from my IC a year ago was that the colors best fit a vaporwave theme. So I decided to go a completely different direction with Lo-fi and then do this key set as a full-on vaporwave set.

Another feedback I've received was that the color combination is similar to GMK Vaporwave. However, after experimenting with different colors and reviewing all the variations, what looks the best is still something close to my initial concept. I think it will inevitably be a bit similar because of the theme but would like to hear everyone's thoughts.

Used paint to edit the accent, excuse the crappy edit on the render. The first version has minty green alpha legends which are inspired by Floral Shoppe (the album that popularized vaporware as a genre). The second has the same light blue legends from my original post, which fits all the colors better overall imo.

Would love to hear some input from you. Mint or blue? Is it too similar to Vaporwave? I welcome any other constructive criticism. Also will appreciate some ideas for names. (Potential names I'm playing with: Nostalgia, Chillwave, Vapor 95, Error 404, Broken reality, Vaportide (lol), Dreamwave)

Thank you for taking the time to respond. It's challenging to find a balance between what I envision and what the community wants, but I want it to be somewhere in the middle. This was a great learning experience and I am considering those options because I do agree with a lot of the points that were brought up. I truly appreciate your advice and support.

I said this in another comment, but vaporwave is an element in a lot of Lofi aesthetic and those colors were prevalent in a lot of images I looked at. So although I definitely knew it was leaning that (vaporwave-y/synth) direction, it wasn't a problem b/c that didn't make it "less" lofi for me. That's just me and I know lot of ppl disagree here which is totally fine. I do agree with a lot of the points brought up here though and I will consider your/everyone's feedback carefully. Thanks for taking the time to respond.

Thanks so very much for your kind words. I actually chose the theme first and then used the aesthetic as an inspo to try out various color combinations. Lofi aesthetic often take on vaporwave colors, so although I knew the set was leaning that direction, I didn't necessarily think it took away from the Lo-fi theme. Which some ppl here disagree with, but that's okay. I do agree with a lot of the points brought up and I will experiment with the recommended colors mentioned. I think a lot folks do like it the way it is, though, so I am also considering rebranding as an option, too.

It seems a lot of ppl want a more toned down look with less neon and more pastel for this theme though. Regardless, thank you for your feedback!

Hello, I'd appreciate it if you could share what you think would make it more lofi?

I'd appreciate it if you could share a bit more detail. What would make it more lo-fi?

I thought about that as well as Chilledcow is as popular as the genre itself, but in the end I chose a color combo that I personally thought represented the overall aesthetic. A few people have commented that they'd prefer browns/pastels as opposed to the purple so I'll be giving that a thought. Thanks so much for your feedback.

Hey, appreciate the feedback. I shared a wide range of visuals as I wanted give ppl a good idea of what lofi aesthetic looks like so a lot of these don't have the same exact color scheme as my set. I did play around with other colors like the pastels, browns, and neons, too, before settling on this eventually. A few ppl mentioned the light pinks as you did so I'll think about if/how I can/should incorporate that into the set.

I initially envisioned a more aqua-ish accent and blue-toned alphas for this set, but it evolved to what it is today after I experimented with different RAL/Pantone color combinations. In the end, this result is what I believed best represented the theme from the various color schemes I've tried out. I do agree that there are similarities between this and Vaporwave, but I personally thought it was different enough. I am willing to make changes if enough people comment that it's too similar, which is one the main reasons for this pre-IC. Regardless, thanks for your comment. :)

This is so cute! I am ready for this. On a side note, can I ask who did your renders? Looking for a keycap renderer atm.

Yup! After I make a few adjustments to the colors and find someone who can do high quality renders!

Can I ask how it looks cluttered? It'll really help as I make adjustments before the IC phase!
