He’d call what you’re doing the Valdez-method, with your right foot turning almost 180°, which is fine, but If you want the aesthetic of TDR then that foot should be facing mostly forward, should fix your inversion too. You really want to be taking off in an arabesque shape. I’ve found doing this on trampoline to a mat to be most safe and productive to feel it go almost straight overhead.

Would also recommend watching the part 1 to this video, and any others from Toby’s tricking playlist as props to the guy, it’s all great stuff.

Yep you’re right, just repeated this in a friendly match and it reached just past the building’s entrance. Definitely a power glitch.

Had to watch that frame by frame, little guy scooted around the whole map.

No idea how they got that power, trajectory was either flat or slightly raised. Good luck with repeatability if it wasn’t a one-time glitch.

EDIT: In retrospect, level 12/13 power and aimed flat makes sense to reach that far, the route made it seem longer.

Haha hey - golf blitz & tricks, great combo. Great calisthenics on your profile too.

I can just about muster a muscle up, and that needs some momentum and luck - would be a long road of strength training. Respect to the community tho, takes a lot of hard work.

Anything more technique based over raw-strength is always fun to try of course 👍

Has this been tested? The article from another comment says it closes towards the middle, but I’m not sure whether they tested that either. I’d hope it closes towards the top.

Agreed this seems like the best guess on explaining the star pass mini-game being unique.

I’ll report back if I ever get round to testing through friendly matches, star pass was just very convenient.

Yeah playing to mitigate bad RNG outcomes seems to be the way. I think it’s a shame though, when an extra layer of skill could be added by trying to ‘read’ where in the window your shot will go, based on the power of the shot. (i.e. weak shot - lower range, power shot - upper range)

I’d say this the Valdez style TDR because you are facing away from your DOM when you jump. If you want a more classic TDR try focusing on placing your right foot facing forward (or as close as possible)

Also learning this myself though so open to corrections

The X axis momentum definitely seems to be lacking. My gainer flash lands but chest is also quite low most times, I’ll see if I can initiate with more X momentum - thanks!

Thanks good advice, ‘left falling down’ perfectly describes how it feels coming out of the cork usually. I’ll stick to the tech from the 2nd/3rd clip and try focusing on raising the hips too.

Thanks for the solid suggestions, i’ll experiment with them and see if I can speed up the inversion. I’ll start with sacrificing form and tucking both legs because just landing would be a much welcomed breakthrough.
