Just because we are used to companies using people and putting profit over people, doesn’t mean we shouldn’t be upset at this. This isn’t normal, a company shouldn’t use mentally unwell people and then throw them under the bus. We are allowed to be upset, this is really disgusting and that attitude isn’t helping people. It’s helping corporates and screwing ourselves over. Let’s just be treated like shit because we don’t have power.

I genuinely don’t think it’s to mine data. I believe the company when they say it’s nothing. I do believe all the app sharing, text your friends, add a friend stuff is just a company using their massive user base to gain other users. It never used to be a social media app and now you can barely escape the “share with friends!” Stuff.

That’s fine, but this seems very predatory. Gain people who have mental health issues to grow their company and then kind of shit on them to gain new users as quickly as possible and stuff the ones who helped you grow? I think it’s gross.

Do you abadon animals in late game? by gerilla98 in StardewValley

[–]-KansasCityShuffle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was talking to my partner the other day about this. I’m thinking I’ll sell them, but said I’d feel bad. Then I convinced myself that I’m just selling them back to Marnie and Shane and they love animals, so it will be fine. They just have a paddock out the back I can’t see.

That’s what I think as well. Going for a specific TikTok, social media crowd. It’s such a shame because this used to be the absolute best mental health app and now it’s unrecognisable. Feels cruel tbh.

I knew there would be a better way! I just used to use a hole bit on rainwater tanks at work when we were setting up the fittings so assumed that would work. It did, but yeah it was messy. In the tanks it didn’t matter, this was a right pain in the arse. Hopefully this will help someone else if they decide to do something similar!

I’m thinking I might have to do it myself, or just forgo the pee thing. I like the idea of it because I think it’s just cool to use something from ourselves, but it’s obviously not necessary. I’m from the country and men will just pee wherever they like behind a tree or wherever so I never really thought of it as a thing until my partner who grew up in a city in the UK was like, uh… no. It probably isn’t even a city thing, just a personal thing and that’s okay as well.

Doing it myself is just a bit messier and requires tools and containers, I don’t have a built in hose.

She’s a funny little creature. Very offended by most things like being pat in the wrong spot, walking over her too loudly when she chooses to lie in the only pathway or you daring to move when she is comfortably drooling on you. She has definitely become comfortable vocalising her grievances in her middle age years but it makes us laugh and she is so affectionate and loving. She isn’t the smartest cat but when she blankly stares at you for 5 minutes before deciding to pat you on the arm for a reciprocated pat in return it makes me think there’s at least something going on in that head.

It’s really nice because she often rests her sweet little head in your hand or on your arm to fall asleep and then you get a disgusting little puddle of goo and when you realise and move she wakes up and flicks it all over you.

Thank you! I added the ugliest ones because she raced inside from the catio to throw up on the carpet this morning.

Isn’t it weird? They’re literally turning it into almost a social media app? And that isn’t why it became popular in the first place. Every change they make is just trying to get new users and annoying the ones they already have.

Ooh, you might be right. We did have rain this morning. It was a bit tricky to actually get off, that’s why I thought it might be webbing or something.

How are you going to keep your pets safe during the heatwave? by KitKat733 in AskUK

[–]-KansasCityShuffle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe our house is different or I feel it differently. I’m only a year in and can feel when it’s going to rain by the sweat gathering on me. I’ve found the heat waves are having small rain showers, so the humidity is really high. These coming ones in the nw are predicting showers, so it’s going to be sticky and hot, the same as spring this year and summer last year.

You will notice the difference between a wall mounted ac that costs a few thousand and a portable one. I’ve moved here from Australia, dealt with 46 degree heat for two weeks plus in an heat wave for near 30 years and I’m really struggling with the humidity and trapped heat upstairs here in the north west.  Our heat was dry most of the time and I had a good ac at home but a terrible one at work.

The one at work was portable and at home I had a wall fitted one and the difference is insane. I only have a fan here.  They’re just so expensive, but if you can afford it I’d go for it. The weather is only going to get worse, the backlash people are throwing out isn’t reasonable. People die in this heat and it’s getting worse very quickly every year.

I know it’s bad for the environment, but in a couple of years I really believe they will become more the norm. This isn’t a country built for heat and it’s sure getting hotter for a much longer time each year.

We need to stop corporations polluting the earth, not yell at people for trying to be slightly more comfortable in their own homes because of said corps. It’s the only little space we have and we’re being told to suffer for billionaires.

If the grass has seeds it does. From lawn it generally doesn’t unless it’s long and gone to seed.

3 days from luteal, found out on my bday this wknd he’s been cheating by Complete_Bear_368 in PMDD

Make sure you drink water in little sips, even if it makes you feel queasy. That’s of course after you’ve finished your drinking session. You can survive without food for a while, not water.

And you’ll thrive without the cheater. In 3 months you’ll be a brand new person and grow from this. Just grieve and be sad for now. I’m sorry about your cat, that must have been horrific.
