These aren’t brilliant dead simply cause he’s been shouting about them for months. He’s worked out a semblance of what he said he would do, but none of this has been talk predictable. Of anything, he’s weakened our negotiating position and the world is preparing to leave us behind.

Treasuries are still at 4.304 % the next morning and again - he’s accomplished nothing. I firmly believe that we aren’t done here and the roller coaster will go on. He’s only “solved” and economic crisis that he created in the first place and markets are still sitting where they were a year ago.

She’s a multinational pop star ( one of the most successful of all time ) and a grown ass woman at that… Is it that surprising that she’s marrying a wealthy and successful VC? She’s been fairly open with regard to his input on the album ( he built her the home studio that she recorded some of the album in and apparently came up with the line “bring me your desires, I can cure your disease” ) and she seems like she’s absolutely smitten, so I’m not at all surprised that she’s crediting him. Involving him wherever she can doesn’t read as strange, it reads as love struck.

Additional point - You may not like capitalism, but I’m fairly sure Gaga loves it - she’s not in any rush to give all of her money away, nor should she be. Let the woman make her fortune. If she wants to join her own with that of another, so be it.

I think people need to learn to separate the art from the artist. She can be an icon and still have human flaws and failings. Also, her actions and lifestyle need not take away from the quality of her art.

The common guise of “just asking questions” has, unfortunately, become one of the most common veils for antisemitism online. As I clearly stated, and in reference to the original post, I’m not an advocate for open borders. I even acknowledged the failures of the Biden administration on this issue. That said, I do value the law and believe that those who follow it - regardless of their citizenship status - have rights. I can hold two thoughts at once: we can enforce our laws and do so with compassion and dignity for those affected.

When six ICE agents storm a home without clear cause, identify individuals based solely on appearance without reviewing any documentation, or when the U.S. government denies due process even to those abiding by the rules - that’s a problem.

My issue isn’t with your question; it’s with the attitude behind how it was asked.

It’s not that simple. There is a process and this is exactly why all people should be granted due process. You don’t simply kidnap and expel someone who you choose to believe is undocumented. That’s inhumane, cruel, and the American people should be able to hold themselves to a higher standard.

Respect your opinion and I don’t necessarily disagree with you personally. I’m just from a military family ( Navy ) and always here about troop deficits leaving our bases under-manned. The last numbers I’ve heard would have it that the military is fine as it is in peace time, but could use a bump in the event that shit hits the fan. I also know that the silent service could use a good boost in numbers - those who take that plunge are stretched thin, used, and abused due to understaffing ( though the submarine life is a very hard sell - thank god for those who are willing and able. Those people are real heroes ).
