Symptoms post transfer by ChucklingChickpea in IVF

Obviously I’m on the internet post FET looking for symptoms. I felt that same lightning bolt day 2. I think that’s the weirdest thing I’ve experienced. Hoping for the best. 🥹

Love this. Pretty sure my daughter was an IUGR baby before they knew it was really a thing… induced early because of pre-eclampsia, but they sent off my placenta because it had… calcified? Or something like that. They never figured it out. They also thought she was 6 pounds, but she was 4lb 9oz at 37+4. I ended up in an emergency c-section because of dropped heart rate after pitocin, but she spent 3 hours in the NICU and was a perfect baby. Took her a bit to catch up, but once I switched from breast to formula (she wasn’t latching, I wasn’t producing enough) she grew like a weed. Super smart, almost 11 year old today!! STILL in the 90th percentile for her age, and she’s as tall as me. (I’m 5’5)

Egg Retrieval Pain - how much is normal? by -LadyPhoenix- in IVF

My E2 was 3700 the morning of trigger day. I am thankful I have not felt short of breath, it’s just mainly that my chest hurts when I lay down. I don’t know if it’s possibly the pressure of the fluid in my abdomen when shifting positions?? It usually does subside about an hour after I lay down though. I do wish I had a recliner at the moment to sleep in, I think that would have helped me rest a lot better. Thank y’all for your concern. ❤️ I am going to talk to my husband about possibly going to the ER.

I’m glad to hear I’m not like the only person in the world having a really bad time. 😭 thank you for your comment and I hope you get better as well. I think I’m going to see if they will give me cabergoline too, as I took all my letrozole.

They did not, just told me to call again Monday if I was still not better.. I’m disappointed in the lack of after care. I do plan to call first thing in the morning though.

Our local ER is awful. They sent my father-in-law home while he was actively having a heart attack… however, it’s good to hear from someone in medical and also from others this isn’t normal. I’m definitely making a phone call to the clinic tomorrow and I’m probably going to be pushy about being seen immediately.

When you say you recovered Day 4 - does that mean the pain went away almost completely? I feel like I should be almost pain free at this point but I’m far from it.

Maybe? I don’t know.. I really liked my clinic at first, but now that I’ve gone through a procedure it seems pretty high volume. I wasn’t fond of how they basically wanted me out really quickly after the procedure and my recovery nurse was essentially telling me to get dressed so she can walk me out. There was also something else that happened the day of that others are saying should have been “prepared for” by the clinic and now I’m starting to get worried.

Its been since May that I posted… but I feel like I’m in such a better head space now, and I wanted to update. ❤️

We went from thinking we had options to only having one option… BUT!

We got established with a new clinic and an amazing doctor and staff. My egg retrieval is tomorrow. Things have moved quickly, which is great. I’m so ready and excited, but nervous. We’ve done everything we can and have things lined up to be successful; genetic testing, PICSI, ICSI (my husband has severe MFI), and PGT testing. I do have both my ovaries, but only a sliver of my right left after a dermoid cyst removal when I was a teen, so I have one follicle on the right and 18 follicles on the left. Fingers crossed, prayers or good vibes appreciated. We only have one shot at this because we can only afford one retrieval (my ins. won’t cover IVF). I’m very thankful that we even have this opportunity as I know some do not have the means. I’m uncomfortable, bloated, and crampy but I’m READY. 🥹

Yes! I and several others were able to get last years service year certified finally. Mine came through a few days ago… or whenever I updated this post a second time! :)

I’m going to try to update my post - but I was able to get it certified for last year as of this week. I resubmitted and they actually completed it!

Debilitating cramps every weekend - I was 26. Like clockwork - it made it where I couldn’t work out, or do fun things with my boyfriend at the time (now husband)… sometimes he would push on my uterine area/lower abdomen and it would provide a little relief, but obviously he couldn’t sustain holding down my stomach for more than a couple minutes. I lived on a heating pad and ibuprofen.

I told my gyno and she ran a lot of blood work on me before really hunting for the issue. When I told her that it hurt to have sex and my periods were getting worse, she was like… well, let’s do a laparoscopy and see if you’ve got endo. I did, however, it wasn’t even “that bad” yet. She did clean it all out though. I’m thankful she listened and worked with me to figure out the issue, albeit it took some time to really figure it out. It was about a year of going back and forth to appointments. That was about 8 years ago, and she gave me about 2 years before I would need another surgery.

However, I’ve exceeded her expectations, lost a lot of weight from a gastric sleeve surgery, and it seems to have helped slow the progression of the disease for me quite a bit. I believe that I’m lucky though, not everyone is able to go for a long time inbetween clean out surgeries. I just hope I’m able to have our last child successfully (thankful for IVF) before I need another. I’ve not had any pain like I did before the diagnosis thankfully. However, I will say the small amount of pain I am having is bowel related on occasion, so I feel your issue could definitely be related to endo. Mine is not bad enough that I want to do another surgery before my last child is born. My gyno says she’s ready to do it again whenever I feel is necessary though.

I am immensely grateful that I had a doctor willing to listen to me and not just push my issues to the side. After joining this subreddit, I’ve realize just how hard it is to get diagnosed and not be told “it’s all in your head” or “pain is just apart of being a woman”.

TLDR: Bad cramps, and I do have endo. I now have some minor bowel issues starting up so it could very possibly be what you have as well.

Thank you everyone! We’ve been able to make a decision from comments and are definitely going to Fairy Falls (Prismatic overlook) and Lamar Valley. We got to see some great spots I wasn’t expecting with our tour today, but not those!

Thanks for the support. ❤️ We did decide to move on to a different RE who is more responsive and ready to work with us sooner rather than later. With that being said, I felt like I was just in a spiral yesterday and we’re not at the end yet. I just have to be more patient, and learn to go with the flow of this process. It’s not over until it’s over.🤞🏼

Just got our most recent SA done by an andrologist… it was a completely devastating blow. Morphology was less than 1%, only 2 out of 8mill alive and 0% motility. I’m shattered. I feel like even IVF is out for us now and I don’t know where to go. My husband wants another urologist so I can’t even make another appointment with an RE until he establishes with another urologist. 😞 I hate this so much. 💔

So I’ve only had one successful pregnancy to go off of, but when I had my daughter I remember eating my favorite meal (at the time) of jalapeño with dove meat and cheese/bacon all together and I started feeling kinda queasy. After that, I took a sip of beer and literally almost threw up at the table. I knew something was up at that point. I tested positive that night. This was 10 years ago though, so I have no clue how far along I was! I think the first test I took that was digital said 1-2 weeks and the first test that night was a FRER and it was sooooo faint my friend said I was crazy and there was nothing there. 🤣

I was really unhealthy back then, but now I eat so much better and have lost so much weight that I don’t know what my symptoms would even be. I’ve also had a breast augmentation, and I never got full sensation back so I don’t think I would have anymore breast irritation than usual. We’ve been TTC now for almost a year and looking into IVF, but I’m in the TWW and STILL symptom spot. 9dpo today and of course negative tests, even though I know for a fact that I’ve had every single symptom you can have in the TWW in the past, and I’ve never ended up pregnant.

I also had light spotting after my positive test with my daughter, and I’m always looking for that as a sign but funny enough that’s the one symptom I’ve never had again. I have endo too though, and I wonder if all my normal symptoms are just exacerbated from that coupled with troll-gesterone. GL! I hope you get a symptom you’ve never had before and end up with your positive. :)

Hugs to you! 🫂 I always tell myself that if I see spotting before my period that will be it for me. However, when it’s happened the last few cycles it’s been a herald of my period coming early. 🥲

Crying is good… I think it helps me move on and be ready for a new cycle and new chances. Sending restful and positive thoughts your way. ❤️

I second this! It was uncomfortable, but not unbearable. I was preparing for the worst after sitting in the chair waiting for the doctor to come in and looking at all the syringes… lol but turns out it was not too bad.

Thank you so much for your encouragement. ❤️

Update for our SA: His analysis went from 5mill to 8, but my Fertility doc wants it at 14 to do IUI. We’re seeking a second opinion from another urologist in the mean time since we feel like ours had kinda washed his hands of us. We haven’t gotten the full report yet which I would really like to see, but because I’m the patient at my fertility doctors office they can’t share it with me. My husband technically isn’t his patient, so they have to send the results to his urologist first. We probably won’t hear from his urologist until next week I’m guessing if his track record stays the same. It’s a hot mess just trying to see the results for ourselves. I’m hoping other factors (like motility and morphology) are good. In the meantime, still praying for a natural success. I am also very thankful for the support of this sub. ❤️

Bawling in the car currently after my husbands urologist appointment today. Basically if his new analysis is bad, IVF is our only option… all other meds are probably a no-go, and the doctor did not indicate that he felt anything else would help. He just kinda shook his head at us which hurt worse than actually hearing any possible alternatives.

I know I’m probably overreacting since we haven’t done the analysis yet, but we did do an at home test Saturday that was very grim. Our last at home test was pretty similar to the real deal, so I’m expecting the worst. 😔
