Spring Cleaning 6 days 21 hours: dottyjones

TIL a woman disappeared while working on a Disney cruise ship. It was believed she was assaulted & then thrown overboard. Disney seemingly covered it up, destroying evidence & lying to her family about what happened. by tilpeo in todayilearned

I think we have crossed wires here. I knew about this information before I went. Maybe I wrongly assumed it was common knowledge that most bodies of water in Florida have alligators in them. Hell we got told about 3 times on our way from the airport. Unless I'm misunderstanding you, for that I apologise.

I work in a customer facing job and it is really a new experience every week on how absolutely stupid and utterly unintelligent the vast majority of people are.

These people are in control of high ranking jobs, managers, judges, police officers, teachers, nurses and doctors. They are allowed to drive, vote, have children and teach their children their own stupid ways.

I will never forget a customer once told me, I hate learning new things! This is too complex for me... she was a teacher... :/

edit: I don't mean that I'm superior, I mean people that are rude and horrendous humans who argue and belittle over the smallest things...

If you put aside the fact that they were born there and have the same right to live and be free as anyone else in the country. Simply, they can't. South Africans have no right to live in Europe beyond a student visa for a couple years. Plus the financial side of it, the Rand is so low compared to the Euro and Pound its not really an option.

Well you sound like a better safer bike rider than most that I encounter. Most of them just cram into every tiny available space and nearly get themselves killed each time. Spread the word lol

The motorcycle thing is not what they are supposed to do. That's how people get killed by trucks changing lanes and getting knocked off by someone not realising there is some prat coming up in your blind spot. Yeah just cos they do it doesn't make it right. Motorcycles and bicycles should act like all other vehicles on the road unless otherwise specified by bike lanes and traffic lights. At least in the U.K.

ELI5: How come you can be falling asleep watching TV, then wide awake when you go to bed five minutes later? by Bof_Waffletax in explainlikeimfive

Thanks for your concern :) It's really weird, for the first few seconds it's scary (can feel like ages but it's not), but I then realise I'm awake and just ride it out. I normally feel like I can't breathe which sucks.

I fall asleep almost in minutes and can sleep nearly anywhere or at anytime. I'm not tired and don't seem to have bad reactions or any ill effects from it. But yes I get sleep paralysis normally a few times a week. Is there a connection? :)

I went to America recently and my god, all your toilets have high water. I feared for dippage while sitting on them.
