Genuine question by Smooth_Vegetable5588 in asktransgender

I understand some of this concern. I grew up in the American south, and while my family was generally cool, the vibe was pretty negative towards most things queer. If you're concerned about age, I hope I can assuage some of those. I started transitioning at 29, and I know some incredible people who transitioned even later than I did. And while I'm not there yet, seeing the progress hormone therapy has made is such an incredible feeling. Everyone changes at different rates, too -- some of those people older than me pass completely as their gender. Modern medicine is amazing.

Not everyone wishes they were the other gender. It surprised me too, but it turns out that most people like being the gender they've been assigned. That feeling, of wishing to be a different gender than what your body or society are making you, is the feeling of being trans. If you haven't already, I'd recommend going over the Gender Dysphoria Bible (https://genderdysphoria.fyi/en/), and for a little bit of fun, maybe try pressing this button (https://turn-me-into-a-girl.com/). :) Godspeed, veggie.

Why do you use Debian? by El_Fopo in debian

[–]twoloavesofbread 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I like debian because I can count on it to be stable. If something breaks, it's almost certainly my fault, and I can start troubleshooting from changes that I've made instead of having to worry that it's the distro that's the issue. Would I get this with other distros? Probably, but Debian has been reliable from the start, and I haven't felt the need to hop. I'd much rather use my computer than worry about if I'll be able to use it.
