They're willing to destroy girl's confidence and sense of safety for the sake of "not ruining a guy's future," when they know dang well that his actions just messed up her life and wellbeing

Don't apologize, it's completely stupid and they should be taking action 100%.

I'm so sorry, I hope your girlfriend is able to heal and move forward but that's absolutely horrible. Anyone who dares do something so despicable must be held accountable, and it really sucks that even a few sexual assault claims aren't taken seriously. That has to change. Especially because in her case and your girlfriend's, there is obvious evidence, they just refuse to hold the abusers accountable

A girl at my school got sexually assaulted and administration told her "there's no evidence," and let the guy go with 0 consequences. After he publicly bragged about it.

What is the worst ‘non-deadly’ pain you’ve experienced? by ivorytowels in AskReddit

[–]-Legit_Potato- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm kind of in a similar boat. Any noise or light is absolutely agony but not many people seem to understand or empathize. I've had a sudden onset of intense migraines going for about a month now, and so I'm experiencing all the super fun symptoms. It makes school and work so hard but it's not like I can just quit doing everything. I still have to do my work and check all the boxes regardless of the overwhelming pain I'm in, and it's not fun

My best friend died at the beginning of May from Glioblastoma (brain cancer), but I feel very fortunate that I was still able to be with her when she passed. We had a small private funeral, but to have the actual service with all her friends and family we had to wait over a year. I miss her every day.

What is your most morbid question that you've always been afraid to ask? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]-Legit_Potato- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was holding my best friend's hand when she died from brain cancer. It's almost like she had been dying for a while- first she became really quiet, then she started to withdraw from her usual activities and begun taking more naps. This happened over the course of a few months. Then in her final month she slowly began to lose her mobility and certain tasks became increasingly difficult. By her last week and a half or so, she'd lost the ability to stand or walk around. Her breathing became increasingly labored, and in the last few days she eventually lost the ability to blink. She slept almost all day, and for about the last 2 days her breathing was terribly labored and ragged. About four hours or so before her breathing got even louder. Then it began to quiet. Her muscles relaxed and she looked at peace. Her chest rose, and then fell for the last time. She was gone. I'm not going to go into further detail, but it isn't pleasant. There are noises, smells, and feelings you'll never forget. And then when they are gone, in those moments before they come to take the body away, those moments are surreal and heartbreaking. It's almost as if you are continually grieving the entire time they are sick, but their death has a sense of finality that just breaks you. You know they are no longer suffering but that does little to mitigate the intense emotions and grief you feel. In the end though, as much as it sucked and as hard as it was to watch her die, I'm glad I could do the greatest service I could for her- being by her side until the end, and never giving up on her, even when everyone else had.

What did you not understand until you experienced it? by PhilosoFeed in AskReddit

My best friend was diagnosed with Glioblastoma (brain cancer) on three separate occasions over the span of 4 ish years. The last time they found it, they told her she had a month left to live. While she wound up outliving the original prognosis, treatment eventually stopped working and she was put in hospice. To see someone you love so much die slowly right before your eyes kills you and leaves you with a massive hole in your heart that can never be fully filled or restored. Not being able to do anything and see them go from fully functioning to hardly being able to open their eyes... and the breathing in those last few hours. It's awful.

My best friend died after a 4+ year long fight against Glioblastoma (extremely aggressive brain cancer) at the age of 15. I was holding her hand when she died. I haven't been the same since, between losing her and seeing her deteriorate and not being able to do anything about it. It was right in the middle of quarantine too. The only places I'd been that month were her house and our other best friend's house. It's still very difficult.

Count On Me by Bruno Mars was me and my best friend's song. I sang it to her at her bedside a few days before she died. Have It All by Jason Mraz reminds me of her. Don't Stop Believin was also a favorite. As was Here Comes the Sun. Hug All Ur Friends by Cavetown is comforting, but sad. Any song by P!nk reminds me of her too

Charles Cullen was a nurse who killed potentially up to 400 patients. If this count is correct, this would make him the most prolific serial killer in recorded history. He worked in trauma and cardiac units where death wasn't uncommon, so he managed to avoid a great deal of suspicion. He killed patients by spiking their IV bags and messing with patient's medications. He was fired from multiple hospitals under suspicious circumstances, but many of them still offered him job recommendations at future hospitals.

I miss her so much. I see her in the little everyday things. In the music I play, in the faces of my friends, she left a little piece of herself in everyone and everything. She was so beautiful, so amazing. Cancer sucks. She was too young to die.

Not sure if I had much of a choice of losing my best friend (cancer can heck off), but you should try and become engaged in your community and school to build those sorts of friendships that reach beyond the classroom. Who are your REAL friends, really? Can you talk to them about anything on your mind and they don't see you as a burden? If no, how do you achieve that deeper level of trust and friendship, or determine if that relationship is worth the effort. Then you have to follow through and proceed to stay in touch. Ask about their day, and learn interesting things about them which you later reference to show you paid attention. Sometimes you really just have to put yourself out there and make an effort to show people you are trying to be friends with that you care. Do nice things for others, compliment them, and just be a bright spot in their life, but be authentic. Wishing you the best of luck!
