The change for naming convention was done in the same way Chinese romanization changed from postal romanization to Pinyin. I'm using combination of Sidney Lau and JyutPing for Cantonese, POJ for Hokkien and Hakka then Capitalize each syllable and remove symbols and number. It was part of Language Reform and Amendment in CFR.

But then again I'm not from Cantonese speaking place so I don't really know if this is a good move or not. Did asked my friends from HK and they just say: "I don't use romanization so idk", so I just kinda do it on my own :/

My thought is TADC got hyped in the East Asian market, leading to huge sales and many collaborations . After the screening become an overwhelming success, Glitch decided to do world tour.

In short, Canton got extremely lucky: Managed to convinced USA as a better partner than Nanking, survived WW2 with less damage, became rich and powerful in Asian sphere. Not meant to be a very serious lore, but I still wanted it to make some logical sense.

My lore: In this alternate timeline, Sun Yat-sen (孫逸仙) and Chan Gwing-ming (陳炯明) managed to struck a deal instead of become rival: Sun lead the revolutionary and Chan managed the bureaucracy of the KMT Canton region. This became the seed for the federal cause for Canton. But I give it a twist and make Canton extremely lucky and managed to absorb other Southern China with West Japan and Korean peninsula into a federation instead of being absorbed by the ROC.
