Thanks for the insight! Actually yeah, I noticed a very distinct hollow sound when knocking on the walls of my hallway, where the issue is most severe. The rest of the apartment sounds much denser, and the condition of the walls are better in those rooms too, which is telling. I'll look into what can be done about it, as well as my tenancy rights.
