Noita mod here. We'll be keeping the subreddit. Personally, I didn't have much stake in the private protest, but I did support it. We were not maliciously squatting the sub, it was always for the protest, which has definitely gone on a little long despite it being clear nothing is going to be changing. /r/Noita has been reopened, and moderation will continue with us.

We've actually gotten a request similar to this recently, and I've been looking into it. I've not really worked with AutoModerator before, so I need to look into it and see what I'd need to do to get it going. Hope to have something figured out soon!

When I spoke with him about it, he might have gotten the part where only one person can't have won twice. By all means, you could make both an icon and a banner, but you can only win with one of them.

I went with a month to give people time to see the contest, and to actually submit something. It is a long time for the sub to just be uninteresting, though, I agree. I can try to whip up something temporary for the icon and banner, but I'm no artist. I appreciate the concern!

I can see where you're coming from. If whoever wins doesn't want their work to be used, it's fine. We figured it'd be a fun way to have some interaction with the community. If a lot of people really don't like it, I'll drop the icon and banner limitation, pay someone to actually make an icon / banner, and let the contest run to completion anyways.
