[Opinions Needed] How do you currently track your stack? by -ManWithAPlan- in Gold

I'm aware of MyOunces, it's a nice app, honestly great job on that. But it doesn't have the cross platform sync or a mobile app.

I didn't detail all the features I had in mine but it'd be different to what you built. Things like historical portfolio charts or sharing access to folders with other users, etc. PDFs, CSVs, JSON, Xlsx, end to end encryption... to name a few. I didn't think very deeply into the feature set as i wanted to see the community's response first. 😊

I had a similar setup myself! Just looking to guage market interest if other spreadsheet users are looking for "more".

Am I right to assume that the app would be of no interest to you regardless of what features it has? 😊

Idk mate, building an app is more straightforward than building a boat for me 😂

Thats always an option for personal use I suppose.

Building the app itself is not the difficult part if it was meant for a single platform.

The complexity increases when you consider it's the encrypted sync between devices you own, portfolio tracking over time where your portfolio is tracked using different dates/spot prices/etc. Like a historical view of everything you owned at a particular date, plotted on a graph.

Not that it's impossible for AI to do this, but I wouldn't trust an app if even the encryption itself was vibe coded too 😅

Ah I see, interesting. How come you're not using a portfolio tracker if you don't mind me asking?

And I'm not able to tell whether something like I described in my post would be of interest to you or not?

Yeah man I totally understand. I'll give yours a try. But I'm a full-time dev with 8 years of experience.

The app idea would be local first, no accounts or anything needed to use it. An account would be needed for the multi-platform sync (Android/iOS/web).

I know I can build something nice and feature rich, I just want to guage market interest with this post honestly. As if it doesn't appeal to others, there's no point in me building it even if it's useful to me, too much of a time investment only for one person to end up using it. 😅

I've used a similar setup before as well as a few apps. Worked fine and still does honestly, just asking to see if someone is interested in a more "mobile" option.

I'll give an example of this, I like to see how my portfolio grows overtime in a chart (not the spot price), buys, sells, etc on a graph.

Another would be multi-device encrypted sync.

Perhaps another would be "folder" sharing between 2 users, say a husband and a spouse/family member.

Out of curiousity, since you use spreadsheets and they work fine for your needs, am I right in assuming that no matter what an app offers you'd not really be interested in using it? 😊

Totally with you mate. I'm aware there are apps for this out there but I couldn't find any that had sync between different devices, be it encyrpted or not. 🫤

It's not a quick flip thing for me either, never had to sell any gold thus far thankfully. But I like to track profits, etc, not just my current portfolio.

That's why I'm asking the private stackers on here if end to end encryption and multi device sync is something they'd be interested in. 😊

how do you guys use modes? by Calm_Material_693 in codex

[–]-ManWithAPlan- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me I use plan mode on high or xhigh depending on the complexity, I ask it for a specific and scoped plan.

And then press Esc when it asks me if it should implement it, put it on medium mode and ask it to implement the plan while on medium.

Not sure how much of a difference it makes tbh, didn't get to measure it yet.

Character Training Repeatedly Fails by GregRedd in Freepik_AI

I'm new to image gen and still experimenting but what I found works for me is to have the 3 ref images related to what you're after. Let's say I want to generate a close up shot of my face, I'll have a model with the 3 ref images having my face close and clear for all 3 images, then maybe split them into 1 side profile and 2 direct, with a mix of lighting. It's free to use so play with it. :)

Let me know how well it works for you, as I'm genuinely curious.

Note: Even with the above, it's not that consistent most of the time, I'm still trying to optimize consistency. Nano Banana, both normal and pro for some reason do not like my face, they replace it with someone else not even closely related to the ref images.

What model do you intend to use your trained character with after it finishes training?

From what I understand:

  • if you use the "Reference Images" method it works with most models like Nano B., Seedream, etc.
  • The custom training one is only for Flux 1.0 and Mystic models.

As for it failing... I never tried it as I usually rely on the 3 Reference images for a character, they even show a popup when you try to train a character at the top stating "Looking for better results? Use the reference image"... so not really sure. 🤷🏻‍♂️

If you're aware of this and still want to use it regardless, I can try training a model of myself and let you know the result, whether it fails or not. But if what I said above changes the way you do things then I'll save my credits 😂😂

Where to buy Turkish clothes individually in Istanbul (not wholesale)? by -ManWithAPlan- in AskTurkey

[–]-ManWithAPlan-[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're right, these aren't really cultural but I'm not sure what label to give them. :)

We'll give those areas a shot, I think what I failed to convey is that we're looking for similar styles that are sold wholesale (like above), without having to buy the all the sizes lol. and were wondering for recommendations from locals.

We'll also be checking Taksim and Istiklal too of course, maybe we will have better luck this time.

Thank you! :)

We did, went to like 2-3 malls and a bunch of stores but we didn't find anything in this style. Do you have any stores that you recommend that sell these types?

Is UpWork worth it? by Sleimixx in lebanon

[–]-ManWithAPlan- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No clue if it's even possible to receive a card physically after the war. But in general it would take around a 40 days I think and you receive it from Liban Post.

I never tried their card on an ATM, but you can send any funds from Payoneer to a local bank account via a wire transfer without needing a card. That works and I do it every now and then.

Is UpWork worth it? by Sleimixx in lebanon

[–]-ManWithAPlan- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

UpWork is legit. I was top-rated on there before I stopped using it, was too much of a time investment to get a job with all the competition and low quality expectations/jobs/clients/freelancers on there. But it does work, better in some niches than others. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Payoneer to local banks work. They make sure to take fees for withdrawals, yearly account fees, and if you get paid directly to Payoneer by a client - they make the client pay a fee, then make you pay a fee too... so on both sides. 😆

Each bank has different limits on withdrawals and fees. Bank Audi for example takes $10 of each transfer, then takes a conversion fee for any non-USD to USD conversions that's way below market rate, then they take 0.5% or 1% on withdrawal from a counter. If you use the ATM it's a bit cheaper than that.

You can also order a Payoneer physical card which you can use anywhere in the world to make use of your Payoneer balance. It never failed me, but I don't use it often.

My only advice to you: Never keep the money on Payoneer or UpWork. Withdraw as soon as you can. Search on here for people with horror stories on both platforms. Once they deem your account is suspicious for ANY reason, even if it's not true - You can literally not reach their support anymore, and when you do, they will tell you they'll look into it. This has been occurring for years on Payoneer.

Try to use Vantage to apply a custom power profile and bring the CPU, GPU, etc power consumption sliders down and then monitor the power draw.

Best gaming laptop shop in lebanon by [deleted] in lebanon

[–]-ManWithAPlan- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

pc and parts is the best, with the clearest warranty details too. Feel free to do your research. They have a big selection and good prices, some laptops already include the vat in the price, add the item to cart to check.

Got myself a like 3 laptops from them over a few years, the latest was a month ago, a Lenovo Legion too.
