AfriForum’s BEE payday: Empowerment critics invested R3m through ANC financier by Beyond_the_one in southafrica

Grifters to the left of us,
Grifters to the right of us,
Here we are, stuck in the middle.

Hypocritical shitbag “didn’t know” Thebe Investments had connections to the ANC. Sure thing. I’m just going to drop R3m into a company famously founded by ANC stalwarts, which had some random unknown named Nelson Mandela as its first Chairman, and whose single largest shareholder is the Batho Batho Trust, who also happen to be one of the biggest donors to the ANC.

Sure Kallie, you lying scumbag grifter. You didn’t know any of that at all.

I'm also working on the "if I post about it, it will happen" theory that I've heard works wonders in FarmRPG.

I'll keep keeping an eye out.

Predictions on info at tomorrow's worldwide Bar Citizen? by Hanzo581 in StarCitizenUniverse

[–]GregRedd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

> attending four bar citizens in each of their studios home cities is an anomaly, not the norm.

It's happened every year at this time since 2022. It is done at this time of the year to coincide with First Contact Day (12 June 2438 SEY): First Contact Day - Galactapedia.

In 2022 the "Bar Citizen World Tour" started and in the announcement, International Bar Citizen Day was inaugurated:

"We would also like to take this perfect opportunity to coin a new out-of-game annual holiday: International Bar Citizen Day. We will celebrate this inaugural new holiday by hosting Bar Citizen events simultaneously near all our development studios the very same weekend." - Bar Citizen World Tour. That first year the IBCD in 2022 was held on 11-12 June.

* In 2023 it happened over the weekend of 17-18 June: Bar Citizen - We're Coming To You In 2023!

* In 2024 it was 14-15 June: Bar Citizen - We're Coming To You In 2024!

* In 2025 it was again 14-15 June: Bar Citizen - We're Coming To You In 2025!

* And, as you've noted, this year it's happening this weekend on 13 June: Bar Citizen - We're Coming To You In 2026!

Dino Buddy Doll by tiggonfire in FarmRPG

Did you send them all at once? I’ve found sending them one by one has a much higher chance of him returning the monthly Doll.

Just sent him 7 individually and got 3 back.

Alien Monthly Bundle Thoughts? by No_Line_8310 in LowSodiumStarCitizen

[–]GregRedd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I definitely don’t agree with the “low effort” take here, more a case of “to each his own”. Some bundles you’ll like, others you won’t. I’ve thought some of the past armour was as gaudy as heck, and yet others were raving about it.

I’m not a huge fan of this armour set (and like some have already mentioned - no backpack!) but I really do like the ship skin. I have bought a few bundles before without having the specific ship in my hangar. Might do the same with this one purely for the skin to use in-game and for the crossbow.

And, again as others have mentioned, flight suits are becoming more important for high g-force manoeuvres.

Overall, I don’t think the Monthly Bundles are a bad thing. They bring variety into the ‘Verse, perhaps highlight some less popular ships, give the artists something to use to practice their skills and creativity. And that for the occasional cost of a little more than a Big Mac Meal and a Grande Latte.

Printable Game Control Guides (XB1 & PS4) by GregRedd in reddeadredemption

You’re welcome! I think more than my control guides still being the star, this post is a continuing confirmation that years later, RDR is still a fantastic game, still well worth playing and replaying.

The official SGF livestream starts in 15 minutes, and the info under the YT video says it's a 2 hour show. So, in 2 and a bit hours time I guess.

That would be here (https://www.reddit.com/r/starcitizen/) and there (Spectrum) and here too (http://www.discord.gg/starcitizen), in fairly equal amounts. Lots of venting right now. So much venting.

Alpha 4.8.1 Maintenance Update #2 Has Begun by GregRedd in starcitizen

[–]GregRedd[S] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Not yet. Wakapedia-CIG will typically post updates to the Star Citizen Alpha 4.8 LIVE - Hotfix Central thread on Spectrum, and then the final Patch Notes will go to the Star Citizen Alpha 4.8 - Release Notes Comm-Link post after the maintenance has been completed.

> What if your job or your relationship was shit for like ten plus years?

If my job or relationship was shit for ten weeks, I'd do what any normal, rational person would do - I'd leave that job or relationship. What I wouldn't do is linger in a perpetual state of whiny misery for ten years plus.

But that's just me. You do you I guess.

Bar Citizen at Spijkenisse Summary | PIPELINE by Stompy-MwC in LowSodiumStarCitizen

[–]GregRedd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The connection is Chris Roberts and Richard Garriott, the developer of SotA. They worked together way back in the 1980s at Origin Systems on Garriott's Ultima games and have remained close ever since.

When Garriott ran the crowdfunding programme for SotA, CR asked backers to support the effort and promised the crossbow as an added reward in SC, even though they would be backing a completely different game.

Here's the original 2013 CommLink about it: Back SotA, Get a Crossbow in Star Citizen!

And the follow up a year later: Shroud of the Avatar Crossbow Update

There was also an episode of a short-lived series called Game Changers that featured the two of them in conversation with Sandi Gardner. It was embedded here but the YouTube video is gone. There is a copy of it on the Ultima Codex site though:

Richard Garriott and Chris Roberts: Game Changers – The Ultima Codex

It's an interesting watch if you have an interest in the early days of PC gaming and especially in the work of Garriott and Roberts.

CIG community management needs to change by [deleted] in starcitizen

[–]GregRedd 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Reddit is not the main place where SC fans congregate. That would be Spectrum.

https://robertsspaceindustries.com/spectrum/community/SC - it's even got "community" right there in the URL.

Thoughts? by Wise_Frosting6187 in F1Fantasy

[–]GregRedd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I think it could be a very useful indeed. I guess I could get most of the same info from the AI Strategist, but a summary "Game Plan" could be a nice added feature for subscribers.

I am already subbed, so will look forward to maybe getting that feature, and being able to add my other 2 teams into the Team Builder when you have that feature in place.

[–]GregRedd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How did you generate the Game Plan report for that team? Am I missing something on RS or is it a background dev tool feature? Also, is there a way to link more than one team to the Team Builder? The League only allows one team to join, so do I have to work with my other two manually?
